lol! Also, it is quite accurate. There is the speculation on when No Man's Sky will finally be released to keep us on edge in the meanwhile.

IGN has been speculating alot on their podcasts that this one is getting delayed into 2016 anyhow.

That would be a pretty interesting development since I would imagine Microsoft is really counting on this (and Halo 5) to be the center of their Holiday ad campaign as exclusive titles.

That would definitely be a stab to the gut. However, all of the titles I am interested in this year are multi-console.

Couldn't MS pull funding or something if that were the case? This thing will sell gangbusters this year since Uncharted was delayed to 2016. If they have to compete with that now (plus the fact that it's coming to PS4 in holiday 2016 now), I would imagine that's going to hurt the sales a little bit.

MS has 1-year console exclusivity, so if it doesn't come out holiday 2015 on XB1, it won't be coming out holiday 2016 on PS4.

Also, Maxflier, you're in the wrong thread.

Seems like this is basically the full version of the minute clip a couple posts above, this time running 13 minutes long. This is probably the coolest video of the game i've seen yet and looks gorgeous.

I had no idea this was coming out on the 360 as well. I guess that means PS3 next year too.

12”-tall statue of Lara Croft, which depicts her searching for answers on her first Tomb Raiding Expedition.
Collectible Steel Case, crafted with the symbol of an artifact.

Footage looks pretty sweet. I'm still stuck in the last-gen, this game might have me choosing the green pill this holiday season.

Collector's editions should come with a disc and digital code these days.

Not going to happen. They won't sell you a $100 - $150 CE knowing that you can easily sell the code (or keep the code and sell the disc) and re-coup some of the cost. Not unless you want to start seeing more $200 - $250 CEs.

Yeah, I don't see any reason for that at all. No real benefit for the consumer and certainly the loss of a sale for the publisher when the disc copy or the code gets sold.

That said, giving an empty steelbook with a Collector's Edition is really, really stupid.

Also don't see why any company would give you two copies of a game. At least this gives you what appears to be a regular retail copy and a steelbook.

The prices of these collector's editions keep rising though, I'd never buy something like this myself.

They might have been comparing it to BDs that come with a digital code.

I wouldn't get it either, but I might if I were a statue collector.

Not the same thing though. Those digital codes allow you to watch the same movie when not at home and in front of your main HDTV and Blu Ray player. It allows for mobile watching and introduced the public to the idea of digital movie purchasing. The digital code here would confer no additional benefit to the game consumer (besides allowing him to sell the disc copy).

All good points from a studio perspective, though the end result for the customer is often the same (defraying the cost by reselling).

re: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One now, PS4 on 10/11/16)

such a hard achievement

In this latest video for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Xbox's own Larry Hyrb - better known as Major Nelson - shows how to get one of the game's achievements, "English Pedigree". To earn this achievement, Lara must headshot an enemy with an arrow for at least 25m away.

re: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One now, PS4 on 10/11/16)

RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER WILL BOAST 30 TO 40 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY

Lead designer on Rise of the Tomb Raider at Crystal Dynamics Mike Brinker has confirmed there will be plenty to do in the follow-up to the studio’s well-received 2013 reboot.

“Not only are we going wide, but we’re going deeper,” explained Brinker. “We’re looking at 30 to 40 hours for the completionist. That delves into things like, for example, our skill trees.”

“We used to have, I think it was 15- or 16-odd skills. Now we have over 50 skills. And we have three different tracks you can upgrade, and they’re each separated by four tiers. And then you’re looking at things like the translation system and the crafting system that really bring about all those layers of her leveling up as a character.”

Brinker also explained that the hub spaces in Rise of the Tomb Raider are three times larger than those in 2013’s Tomb Raider.
