The Wi-Fi of the Pro has also seen an upgrade to include 802.11ac and a Bluetooth bump to v2.1 to v4.0. Both of these upgrades were also seen in the new slim PS4.

I thought I had a thread for this but this game has a possible release later this year and looks good. Interesting video on the research, the story behind it and the emotion factor they are putting into it. Very well good be another "Horizon: Zero Dawn" hit for the PS4 and PC....

Don't forget the equally well reviewed Nioh and Nier:Automata, been a solid year for the PS4.

I guess Sony is paying out the nose for console exclusivity? All these games are on PC as well, and it would seem to be a simple port to the One, unless I'm just sorely out of touch.

It's probably because of the Xbox One being a non-entity in Japan. Persona 5 isn't coming to the Xbox One either. It's unfortunate. Isn't there enough demand in the West to justify a port?

Are PC games big in Japan though? I honestly have no idea.

So I've had 2 different games in the past week complain about not being able to save due to corrupted data. Does that mean my hard drive is about to fail?

So now will it be able to run/register both the internal and an external HD at the same time, using the external just as it does the internal?

From what I've read, game saves all have to go to the internal drive, and the OS is solely on the internal, so it doesn't use the external "just as" it does the internal. But you can have an external plugged in and have games installed to, and playable from, both internal and external.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Gamesradar has a short but clear breakdown of how to use the external drive...

http://www.gamesradar.com/ps4-extern...torage-set-up/

The External will be set as the Default for games while internal for game data... but you can go into the options and set the internal if you wish. You can also copy over any of your current game list to the external if your internal drive is getting full while keeping some of the games you currently play.

Note - You do have to disconnect the drive a certain way thru the Quick Menus when prompted...

Has anyone put on an external drive yet?

I'm looking at getting one but not sure if I should go with USB power only or one that uses a separate power supply? I don't use either for the desktop...we have one of those External Docking Stations so I haven't had any experience with either.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I plugged in my old 500GB PS4 HD no problem. I was using it in a WiiU, but have since sold it. Plugged it into the PS4 with 1 USB cable (the Wii required 2 for power) and it was recognized no problem.

I haven't used my PS4 in a few weeks, but I read the newest OS update is causing problems with the WiFi. There is some serious lag issues. Has anyone experienced this? A lot of really unhappy people on a few PS4 boards.

I personally don't use wi-fi, so not sure. Do you know if it's Pro users, regular users or everyone?

Some lucky people have been emailed a $100 voucher from Sony. Check your emails.

Has anyone here had issues with the HDMI input cutting in and out? I've tried switching cables, and it still does it.

I just upgraded to Ps4 Pro, and I did have it happen a few times. I thought tightening the cable helped. still monitoring the situation. Mine is a fairly new cable (threaded through the wall), so hopefully I don't need to replace it.

YES! I thought it was just the HDMI switch I'd been using, but I bought another one and it's still doing it. I haven't tried the PS4 directly into the monitor, but I suspect it'll do the same thing. Glad to know it's not just me, but it still sucks.

So what's the solution? They suggested sending it in for $100, but that seems like a shitty defect for something I've had less than two fucking years.

This article suggests it's a bent pin in the HDMI port:
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/PS4...sue-60555.html

This one says that some launch PS4s had a piece of metal sticking up in the HDMI port that prevented plugs for going in fully, and potentinally damaged the plugs.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/...-metal-in-port

This thread suggests turning off "deep color" and setting a specific, fixed, resolution:
https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/6910...ion-4/69182331

This thread suggests disabling HDCP, which should be fine for playing games, but I think maybe some video apps won't play with it disabled:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comment..._out_randomly/

If nothing else, right before returning it and after backing it up, try a factory reset of the PS4. If it's a firmware bug, fully resetting the system may clear it.

I remember the deep color issue coming up in the past with others as well. I think it's set on automatic, so try turning it off first to see if that helps.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Five of the top seven games of 2017 are PS4 exclusives (I'm not counting Shovel Knight since it's been out), none are on Xbox One, the eighth game is on PC and PS4, and that's not counting Yakuza 0 which is also great
