Assume you're talking about the NFS video I linked from Digital Foundry.
I believe they are both 1080p and locked at 30 FPS. I think the little 2 FPS blips to 28 or 32 on both are just as likely to be sensitivity of the equipment involved as anything actually happening in game.
Both versions look great with no substantive differences as far as I can tell, and the game looks like a blast for fans of open world arcadey racers. I have no regrets picking it for my third game based on what I've seen so far, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either version.

Why are there no demos/trials for the launch games?

Been up playing all night long. Easily the best console I have ever owned so far.
I'm throwing away my NES now.

They were lucky to get the actual games out by launch. Stopping to create a demo would have crippled everyone.

Good question.
My guess is that all of these games are coming in so hot that devs decided across the board to focus resources on getting the games finished.
We already have confirmed day one patches for Knack, CoD and AC4 and probably others I'm not aware of.

I went to two Targets and a Best Buy this morning to find a PS4 camera (Best Buy came through) and saw zero PS4s out. Best Buy had a lot of Dualshock 4s but no systems at all.

When Tretton told Fox Business that their plan was to have units available at retail, I took that as posturing, but it looks like they were serious.

I want to hear more about people getting kicked off their single player games due to network problems (on either end), and if it's true. I thought you didn't have to be online to play the single-player games.

I don't know about that, not everyone pays attention to every news bit that comes out about each console so reviews are an ok way to sum everything up, plus final looks at UI and controllers. Although I would agree a final score is kind of pointless except to get people to complain about bias. Polygon!

This. so fucking much this. I hate coming into this thread as a DUAL CONSOLE OWNER (last gen, and this gen in 6+ months) and seeing constant slams against the other system.

Console reviews are perfectly acceptable. It's a product a company wants you to buy. Reviews aren't for the early adopters... their minds are made up already.

From http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/assass...ive_1080p.html :
The PlayStation 4 version of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag currently outputs natively at 900p, Ubisoft has revealed, with a future title update set to offer full native 1080p visuals.
In an update on the UbiBlog, Ubisoft communications manager Gary Steinman explained that "players will need to download a title update (available shortly after release) to enjoy the full 1080p native resolution.
"Even without the title update, the game is undeniably stunning on next-gen consoles. Indeed, as Associate Producer Sylvain Trottier suggests, some players might not even be able to tell the difference. That's because the game, as shipped, is being rendered on next-gen at a resolution that's very close to 1080p (900p, if you're curious), and the upscaling process barely adjusts the image."
"If it's running at 720p vs 1080p you're going to notice the difference by far," Trottier explains. "But if it's set at a resolution that's very close, where most of the pixels are already there in internal processing, most people won't see any difference."
Steinman explains that the retail version shipped at 900p in order for the development team to "deliver a visually brilliant game at a steady 30 frames per second... Finishing the game at 900p gave the development team the extra room in terms of the GPU and CPU usage to ensure the framerate never dips below 30 frames per second.
"The team then used the time between the ship date and the release to focus on a title update that could deliver native 1080p resolution on the PS4."

I wonder if we're going to see this often the first year... performance and graphic improvement patches.

re: PS4 Release Thread: Kill Launch App #Driveclub due October 2014!!!
I waited in line last night at Best Buy, since I didn't have a pre-order there. I got my system and was out the door at 12:01am. I had a little bit of snag trying to sign in to PSN as I kept getting a "timed out" error, but it finally went through and I was able to download Resogun, and Contrast without issue.
I was messing around this morning with it some more, and found Flower on the store, but it doesn't show as free? Does getting it free through PSN+ not count towards the PS4 version?

Who cares what those sites do or don't do? My suggestion is that you stop posting about the Xbox One, because you've proven time and again that you're unable (or unwilling) to do it in a constructive way.
