Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best looking games ever made and it runs great on the regular ps4
We don't need a ps5 for a while

........that and several other games look...and play just fine. I think the next "Horizon Dawn" game to produce a wow factor is going to be Hellblade. And we have plenty coming fall and into next year...Star Wars Battlefront 2 will blow people away...you can take that to the bank.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see new systems until like 2020.

Has Forbes ever had good information regarding video games?

We also don't NEED new iphones every year but yet they pump them out. If the new Xbox X is a huge enough step up in power and performance, it wouldn't surprise me to see Sony throw a counter punch.

Yeah, still feels way too soon for another console as it seems that they can still squeeze some juice out of the PS4, at least console-exclusives still can.

CPU performance is pretty weak with this current generation of consoles, which is why a lot of people were disappointed that the Xbox One X didn't move to AMD's Zen architecture. But I've always been in the boat of diminishing returns this generation, and things like the resolution bump to 4K aren't exactly mind blowing upgrades.
But yeah, can't imagine Sony is thinking of a PS5 already next year. I'd actually think the PS4 being such a huge success means they would want to ride this generation as much as possible and probably start pushing the PS4 Pro more in the upcoming year with a price drop and more advertising.

....rehashing the part of the free "Orcs Must Die"...did anyone DL and give it a go? I decided to DL it last night and might fire it up tonight after work though I need to get back on Neverwinter...and Killing floor II....and Diablo III Necromancer....

Okay I been reading these rumors that the upcoming update 5.0 I believe it called would make it that PS4 backwards compatibility with PS1 games. Think it all bullshit but I see it when it come out.

PS2 support was done with HW using the same graphics chip, whereas the PS1 support was always software. That's my memory anyway, so all PS3s have PS1 support, but once the HW was removed to save money, the later PS3s no longer play PS2 games.

Yeah, just the first batch of PS3s, and the MGS bundles were full BC with PS2 games. But ALL PS3s, including the later Slims were BC with PS1 games.

Having some problems with wifi on my launch system. Several weeks ago I noticed wifi was not connected, and it needed a system update. I connected with an ethernet cable, got the system update (which required going into Safe Mode) Took several attempts to connect to wifi again, and everything seemed OK.
Yesterday I see wifi is off again. It downloaded a system update on Wednesday over wifi, but now will not connect again. It gives the usual error codes of time out, password incorrect, etc. I will have to try again to update in Safe Mode later.

Has anyone had any experience with a broken HDMI cord on their PS4? My cord got pulled hard from my PS4 by accident and I think the interal wires are screwed and busted. I'm way out of warranty too.

eBay has a guide, it requires soldering.
http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Repla...5398829/g.html
Amazon has some replacement ports for sale:
https://www.amazon.com/Interface-Con.../dp/B00Z4ZXSGO
I found this discussion thread about fixing the port:

Also found a service for sending it in to get fixed:

Well the wifi on my launch still works when it wants to, which is not often. We are in the process of painting the house, so it will be unplugged for a few days, but it looks like Sony wants be to upgrade to a slim or pro

If that is the only issue, why not use a PowerLine and just plug an ethernet cable into it instead?
