I don't get it, isn't that just a stripped down version of the current pdp officially licensed remote?

With Sony releasing the PlayStation 4 Pro late last year, some people might be assuming that mid-generation console upgrades will be the norm moving forward; much like how there are yearly refreshes for smartphones. If you're wondering what this means for the PS5, don't fret, as Sony Interactive Entertainment America CEO Shawn Layden confirms there will be a PS5.
Speaking to German publication Golem.de, Layden was asked when we'll see the first games that will run on PS4 Pro, but won't be compatible with the original PS4. Thankfully, Layden shoots down this question with an emphatic, "That will never happen!"

When one goes back and look at the evolution and time frame of consoles especially like the Xbox 360 and PS3 to when the XO and PS4 were released....on paper we should still see close to 3yrs left on the current gen. But with this constant and ever changing demand for more power and more "Eye Candy" will we see something sooner....who knows. But with speculation of XTwo and PS5 in the future, there's far more involved than hardware...like will DEVS be put in a position of making a game to suit the XO/PS4, and XT/PS5 and PC?

That's You! is free for PS+ members for the next few months. It's pretty fun...kinda Jackbox-y, in that you play on phones/tablets, but it's more "personal". The questions are what you think other people in your group would answer, along with mimicking photos and doodling over backgrounds. It requires downloading an app, which has added bonuses like using your phone's camera to snap an avatar photo.

Loved one purchased a PS4 Pro. I've only played Grand Theft Auto V and I'm liking it so far.
Purchased 5 full, new PS4 games for less than $90 over the course of a year. Wouldn't have possible getting major games this cheaply 20 or 30 years ago, I think.

Can someone please tell me what the NW-31298-3 error code is? Apparently, the "WPA Password might not be correct," but it is.
It's not even listed on Sony's website. How can I fix this? Sony told me it's my routers fault, but every other electronic is working fine in our apartment. How can I fix this? Every time I turn on the PS4, I have to connect to the network again. I don't get that problem on my PS3.

PlayStation 5 To Launch in 2019?
Sony has already confirmed it is developing the PlayStation 5, and now an analyst predicts the PS5 will have a 2019 release date. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter also says the PS5 will be backwards compatible with the PlayStation 4 and will be capable of native 4K gaming.
“My expectation that is that it’s not coming out in 2018. That is a 2019 or 2020, but probably 2019,” Pachter told GamingBolt. “Sony is probably timing it better because they are going to bring out a 4K capable device when the 4K TV market reaches 50% in the USA and 35% in the rest of the world.
I think Sony has probably got the next console cycle nailed down already. I think, they already know what they got to do.”
As for the capabilities of the PlayStation 5, Pachter believes it will be another half step forwards from the capabilities of the PS4 Pro. For him, that means that the PS5 will “surely” support native 4K gaming, possibly at 240 frames-per-second.
He also went on to say he believes the PS5 will be backwards compatible with the PS4 Pro. If that’s the case, then the PS5 should also be backwards compatible with base PS4 games.
“Will it play games that were made for the PlayStation 4 PRO? That’s the question. I think it will,” Pachter said. “So I think they will build a console that will backwards compatible with the PS4 Pro.
So I think it will be perceived by the consumers to be a half step and I think Shawn [Layden] is telling the truth when he says it will be a full fledged console.”
Layden is the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and is the head of PlayStation. Layden confirmed a couple of weeks ago that Sony is developing the PlayStation 5, but stated that “it will probably be some time.” That was the first time that anyone from Sony confirmed the PS5 was in the works.
Pachter’s prediction of a 2019 launch seems pretty believable, since the PlayStation 4 Pro hasn’t reached its maturity yet. However, analyst Damian Thong predicted back in April that Sony might actually launch the PS5 during the second half of 2018.
Thong’s prediction for the PS5 launch was given much attention since he also accurately predicted the launch of the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro last year.
But looking at the current success of Sony’s PS4 and PS4 Pro, it does look like a 2019 launch is bit more realistic.
As for the PlayStation 5’s backwards compatibility with PS4 games, it seems like Sony’s not going the same route as Microsoft. Microsoft believes that the Xbox One X will mark the end of console generations, and that all future consoles will be cross-compatible.
Sony’s strategy seems a bit more conservative. Instead of making everything compatible with one another, it looks like Sony only wants the PS4 and the PS5 to work together side by side.

Shut down PS4 completely, Disconnect router from modem and keep it off. Restart modem and wait 30 seconds before reconnecting the router. Once modem and router have fully booted up, turn on PS4 and try connecting.

In the case of the Xbox, without a true next gen I doubt we'll see a new controller design for a long while, which sucks because the X1 pad is inferior to the 360 and DS4 (imo). Hell I've been playing Zelda with the WiiU pro controller and it has a better overall design than the X1.

BTW, this analyst just recently predicted that the Nintendo Switch would have disappointing sales:

The Nintendo Switch hasn't even reached store shelves, but already one prominent video games analyst is questioning its chances of success.
In a note to investors on Tuesday, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said that Nintendo's upcoming console, the Switch, could be negatively affected by "pricing and a limited number of compelling software releases at launch.

Pachter in 2009:
I think we've seen the last generation of consoles.
[Third party publishers] are not going to support a PS4 or Xbox 720.

Pachter has always been terrible at predictions, which is why it was funny when he was getting a lot of press for his analysis a few years ago.

He's an analyst, not a fortune teller
He has to make bold and crazy predictions from time to time, or anyone would be doing it and making crazy amounts of money.

It's just funny to me that his analysis is no more well informed about the industry then a lot of folks that keeps with gaming news and rumors, but his opinion was taken more seriously back then. These days I don't see much from him at all.

That's pretty damn good for that price, assuming you were already going to pick up the game. Also, your pic isn't showing up for me. So just in case:

I'm not sure what the point of notes for system updates when 90% of them are "improves the quality of the system performance."

I think he just means what's the point of putting the release notes when it's pretty much always about the same thing - improving the quality of system performance. We should probably just always assume that unless the notes state otherwise.
