No remote is crazy. That was the first item I bought for my PS3. I also prefer to have limited hardware and telling someone to have a separate BD player when you have a PS4 is stupid.

I have owned several stand-alone BD players and the PS3 was better than all of them. I assumed the PS4 would be the same.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Anybody want a 20th Anniversary PS4?

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/12/...e-a-grrey-ps1/

12,300 will be available. It has the old PS logo, and everything is in the old PS grey colors. I guess you'll be able to buy it at the Playstation Experience show in Vegas this weekend. For $499.

If I had that PS4 I wouldn't mind it, but I'm not going out of my way to find one, which is seems will be impossible anyway.

It's a cool thing, but I'm happy with black.

Hell, I never see the thing anyway. It's in a cabinet, and I only own two disks.

But I love that new 20th anniversary theme with the PS1 start up sound. It's only in Europe for now. Guessing they'll release it here next week.

Well, there are 3rd party remotes for the PS4 available. All the ones I've seen on amazon are rated pretty poorly. They all look something like this:

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Yuck that 20th Anniversary Edition is hideous. I might be the only person here with the ability to get one this weekend, but I'm not buying one. What is the significance of 12,300?

Speaking of the PlayStation Experience : While it looks to be an Indie Game showcase more than anything else, I know a couple of people had requested I check out some games. Who requested what? I can't remember. I know I will be checking Planetside, but I know somebody else asked me to check another game.

Don't care for the system but I'd love to have that controller.

Grey looks ugly to me, but they really should sell that controller. It would sell a shit ton.

Well, I guess that shows how often I watch 3d... I guess it wasn't so important afterall. But if they came out with a remote, I could finally move my PS3 back to the other room (I had to move it into the main room when neither the PS4 nor One were good enough Blu ray players... the PS4 because of the remote, and the One because of the early sync issues which some people thought were imaginary)

Hmm... are they using bluetooth? As long as there's a harmony code, that's be great, but I'm thinking it's still a no go.

How important is remote functionality to me? I bought that overpriced harmony dongle just to use it with my PS3. I've been going back and forth between getting an Oppo just for Blu ray playback, though.

"The original PlayStation released on December 3, 1994 was the first of the ubiquitous PlayStation series of console and hand-held game devices."

Today is the 20th Anniversary. 12-3. So 12,300. I guess they could have gone the extra step of 12,394 to really drive the date home.

It is ugly, but it has to be the same color scheme as the original PSX from 20 years ago, right?

I don't quite get how it's ugly. It's no uglier than a white console and people go apeshit for those.

They should sell a stand alone Anniversary controller though.

I'm not gonna spend my time looking at a controller or console when playing a game. It could be puke green for all i care.

Where are they selling that thing other than the PS event? Amazon? I've bought every Playstation on launch day so far, so I actually think it's pretty cool.

The sony PS3 remote uses bluetooth....I don't understand why Sony can't update the PS4 to support the PS3 remote.

Do it! Do it now!
