Re: Prey (2017)
Lots of backtracking, huh? I guess I'll have to skip this. Can't stand that shit. Why does every game have to be and "open world" these days?
I actually really like the last Prey game, too bad this has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

Re: Prey (2017)
The load times are bad, but I think the bactracking is fine and fun. You have new abilities when you go back and can open up more stuff. It's kinda neat to go to an area that was inaccessible, but with a new skill like leverage 3 you can move a big crate that was blocking an entrance to room full of goodies...

Re: Prey (2017)
It's the precision planting of crates to prolong a game that is a bit irritating. If there were a fast travel like system in Bioshock then it wouldn't be too bad. However, when you have to go from place to place just to get to said room of "goodies" , it can be a bit too much.

Re: Prey (2017)
Eh, I really like everything about the game. There is a lack of variety in monsters thus far, hopefully that changes, but I love the exploring and finding and making stuff. Killing the baddies is like secondary in this game. It's more about the story and piecing the puzzles of info together. Don't mind the backtracking for reasons already mentioned. I really look forward to playing it...

Re: Prey (2017)
Just came across new baddies on way to Arboretum. Flying guys and ones that just blow up with GLOO. Went to the arboretum. This place definitely reminds me of BioShock. But, really nothing else...

I was waiting on a BB sale, so I'm glad to see they are finally matching Target's $39.99 price. I will definitely pick this up next week for $31.99, as I enjoyed the first Prey.

Like Decker said it was with the BB Gamers Club discount (20% off new games) plus I got the double sided steelbook exclusive BB case.

Re: Prey (2017)
I was thinking about picking this up, so I decided to play through the demo first. I'm glad I did. Just wasn't hooking me and left me thinking about Dishonored 2, which I never picked up. So I think the plan is to pick up Dishonored 2 eventually and forget about Prey for now.

It is actually an interesting way to get some of the achievements like killing no humans and using no upgrades without having to grind through the entire game a second time.

Re: Prey (2017)
I'll tell you, as much as I like this game a lot I do admit to needing some help using guides online. Some stuff is not just cut and dry. And though I feel like I'm progressing in story and play I feel like I'm not accomplishing much. I keep opening new stuff after I finish one objective and then other objectives pop up but I don't know how far exactly I'm in in the game. I'm in the Arboretum about to go to Deep Storage.
What % have I played?
I'm taking my time however and I like to explore and do all the stuff. And holy fuck when The Nightmare comes after you and there is the countdown clock that seems so long. I thought that was a one time thing. I've killed him a couple of times using recycler rechargers and shotgun. But, trying to scan him and dodge and fight is tough. He is a scary mofo.
Still, having a lot of fun and clocked according to save game time more than 25 hours. I know, seems pretty slow, it that's just how I do.

Man, some of those Typhons are tough sobs. And not having human heads explode when they are linked isn't so easy. Glad I used some neuromods to get whatever. Finishing objectives is kinda satisfying in this game...

Re: Prey (2017)
boy, this gets tougher and tougher as you go along.
just got to Deep Storage and the enemies are tough and numerous. especially those Cystoids and it's little spawn that attack you. reminds me of Flood in Halo. those scared the shit out of me first time i saw them. i hated them. they really freaked me out. reason why i loved the hell out of the first Halo. so original for me at the time.
but, i do the same thing i did then, die, a lot, figure out a different approach each time and finally succeed (really reminds me of Edge of Tomorrow: Live, Die, Repeat). though, wasting a lot of ammo and weapons in the process. i fabricate what i can. but, doesn't seem like it will be enough. shotgun has been the most effective weapon thus far, but i can't seem to get or fabricate enough shotgun ammo.
and still don't know exactly how to activate all the Typhon abilities i keep acquiring through upgrading. i can do one, but don't know how to change between Typhon abilities, if that is possible.
i love that about my gaming, is that it may take a bit, but i can finally overcome it somehow.
so cool how games work like that. those are the ones that are memorable. this is becoming that way for me. really enjoy it.

Re: Prey (2017)
A couple of these objectives are so obscure in how you go about completing them. Saving Dr. Igwe is one. Some are straight forward, but then one opens up another...
