Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC -- 5/20/2014)

I've been playing on PS4 for the last couple of days and I'm having a great time with this game. I think it looks great and it feels next gen to me - there's a certain seamlessness and a smoothness to the gameplay and the controls that feel different from previous gen to me. Also, this has me sold on the PS4 controller being the best one yet for shooters.
My only problem is that I wasn't really using the map to look for enigma codes and such until Mission 3 (where I am now), so I probably missed out on a lot of those, as well as upgrades. Does going back to previous chapters respawn enemies, meaning I'd essentially be starting the game over?

Yes, the enemies will respawn if you do chapter select.

I do like how the levels are laid out and how they aren't you standard corridors like they are in a CoD game.

Yea me to...It's not a open sandbox like Borderlands but it seems to have lets sy...more elbow space...than COD or even Gears of War games of the past. You still have some places more narrow and obvious. Others you just get a larger space and it's like there you go, you figure it out on how you want to play it.

$60.00: Wolfenstein: The New Order.
- $20:00: Best Buy Rewards Zone Certificate from pre-ordering.
- $5.00: Best Buy Gift Card (as they gave nobody the pre-order collectable).
- $38.00: Trade-in value five days after release (includes Best Buy's 50% trade-in bonus and 10% Gamers Club Unlocked bonus).
---
TOTAL: I made $3 for pre-ordering, playing, and then trading-in Wolfenstein: The New Order. I still have access into the Doom beta as well!

You paid $5 in tax as well, assuming you still live in Vegas.
Then again, if you're GCU you bought the game for $48 + $4 tax instead...

So I only paid $2 for the game by that logic.

I just joined GCU two hours ago based upon the $60 promotion they have currently running.

I know if there was an award for "The Most Impressive Detailed Hideaway" it would got to Wolfenstein....it's really got some amazing detail that make the nex gen console shine or at least the PS4. I spend several minutes in there just looking around between missions...

As others and myself have mentioned and as Eurogamer already pointed out, the game looks and runs exactly the same on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

When you rub K&AJones' PS4 the right way, Kaz Hirai appears and grants you three wishes.

no, you made $11. I did the same thing, but sold mine on ebay for $49.

I think I made like $16 after fees

Finished. Liked it, but the ending was not very satisfying.
Spoiler:
I understand that it couldn't end with the utter destruction of the Nazis, but not only do you not get to kill Frau Engel, but no Hitler encounter either. What a gyp!

Has anyone else had audio clipping issues with this game? Game play is just fine but during the cutscenes the audio clips about every 5 seconds. I switched from DTS Surround to Dolby Digital but no change. I've seen this in a few other games before and I can't explain it.

Agree completely. Bought this on impulse and am LOVING it so far. I find the graphics easily on par with COD or Battlefield. The story is super original and quite compelling, and I love the option of unlocking various perks via stealth or combat (or tactical, though I'm not quite sure what this one is). Kinda reminds me of Dishonored, which was one of my favorites.

Finished it. Stupid last boss was ridiculous. Had to put it on wimpy mode to finish

Great game, though. It did freeze up during the credits so I didn't see if there was any movie after them.

I beat this on normal yesterday. I tried to find all the collectibles the first time through but I still missed quite a bit. It was good but mostly forgettable. Not sure if I'll play through again.

Started playing this last night. Wait no I didn't. First I had an update for the XBOX and the 7 GB update for this game. Should start playing it tonight though.
