Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The answer for the question to unlock Moe's new outfit (if you've been collecting the clothing over the past few days) is

Spoiler:
a piece of modern art.

Did anyone get the moe costume yet? I still haven't found the final piece.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

IIRC, there's a dialog trigger that starts with Moe or Homer... best to have both of them free. You might be able to force the dialog to start by visiting the Simpson's house and checking the attic. Once the dialog triggers, the next Rigelian you squash /should/ also give you the last part of Moe's costume.

BUT!

Check the attic first. Some folks are reporting that the last part "just showed up" without any action on their part. They were waiting to do something to "earn" it, and so never checked the attic.

Once you get the final piece, there will be a trivia question to answer... you get as many tries as you need to get it right (and get Moe's costume), but if you get it right on the first try you also get 10 Donuts. See kstublen's post (above) for the answer to that question.

Awesome! Thanks. I checked the attic and it was in there.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I didn't even know about the attic. Of course half the time I miss reading dialogue boxes because I open the game, wait a second, then try to do something just as the box pops up and end up making it go away.

Thanks for the attic tip and riddle answer!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Sneaky EA decided to give only 2 ray gun for each alien instead of the three probes per alien. I want the alien Mr. burns but won't get it if they decide to drop to 1 per alien for the last set.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Got close enough for the last prize. 150 or something, and bought it with 20 donuts. Not bad.

With the new Moe outfit I have a new task that's get 750 probes. WTH!

I didn't get the donut machine either . I was only at about 5500 proves. So way far away. I haven't crafted any items either except upgrading the board via nails.

D'oh! I guess I could have taken a tip from the tab that showed we were going to switch to ray guns.

I'm still sitting on a lot of bags, but I guess I'll see how the schedule works out before I start cashing them out en masse. Problem is I need a lot of rails to complete the spooky house so I might need to push some of those through sooner. I've been timing them with the kids' task, but there's really no need to since that's such a small payout and I accumulate bags faster than they do.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Looks like the donut machine is now available via treats from treat bags. I may go for that over the Great Pumpkin monster.

I was tempted to get the Devil Flanders / Heck House combo but at 120 donuts, it's actually 5 donuts more than each item has been offered on its own in the past (75 and 40, respectively). That's a lot for two skins and even though they're great skins I think I can hold off.

I am tempted to get Witch Marge, though. Do the people who have her think she's worth 75 donuts? I've worked my way back up to 150.

Another quick question: after you go through your friends list and get your 90 ray guns, do you continue through your friends list at all? Is there a reason not to keep going through to collect cash, XP, and potentially donuts? Also a way to spread the love with gremaliens. But if there's a reason not to do it, maybe I'll reconsider my usual of getting ray guns and continuing through towns.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Witch Marge was well worth it to me because she can speed up crops and she is cheap.

Yeah, I don't have Witch Marge but I remember specific events where her powers really helped.

Witch Marge can also be sent to Trick or Treat so she adds another bag.

Okay, shameful admission: I used the Reddit hack. It was quick and easy. Donuts aren't a luxury anymore. I'm not sure if it's been discussed here before - and if it's a no-no, please delete this, mods - but for those wanting to use it for this event (and beyond) I'll just throw it out there: http://www.reddit.com/r/freedonuts/wiki/index

What task is that? (hopefully it translates to rayguns). I'm still on the first 24 hour mission for him.

I've been tempted but it makes it too easy to get whatever I want which ruins all the fun for me. I do wish they'd be a little more generous with free ones.

Unfortunately, it does do that. I only requested the donuts and items from before I started playing - no cash - but earning money is pretty easy now. (And I have lots items/people I have yet to spent donuts on and tons of stuff in my inventory that I haven't placed yet.) The Halloween event's keeping things interesting and I still find it fun to play, but there's definitely less of a challenge now.

My nephew got the hack before me and now he doesn't play anymore because it got too easy. (Well, that and he deleted the app to make room for more music on his iPhone.)

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've found Witch Marge's ability to speed up crops to be quite useful. Her tasks pay at a premium rate. The cauldron, assuming she still comes with it, has a multiplier. At least 2%, I believe.

But the last prize for this phase requires only 7100 rayguns to achieve. With 11 days to collect you'll need to average ~645 per day. Here's a calendar soemone at TSTOaddicts assembled to help you get/stay/keep on track:

Rygelians generate at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes in your town, but once there are 50 running around no more will be placed for you. The game will "bank" up to 30 more, but once that gets maxed out no more will be generated until you start removing them. The math says that if you have just cleared out your town, you will have 50 more of them after 250 minutes (let's call it 4 hours), and will be maxed-out after 400 minutes (6h 40m). So you will need to check in at least 4 times daily, with no more than 6h 40m elapsed between visits, to get credit for every possible alien. If you do that, you'll get:

12 generated aliens per hour
x 24 hours in a day
x 2 Ray Guns per alien
= 576 Ray Guns per day

You need 645, so the rest have to come from visiting neighbors, prize bags, GremAliens, or Ammo. That's 69 extras PLUS whatever Ray Guns you miss out on by not being able to clear out your town every 6+ hours.

If, like me, you can only play when you're at home and are limited to 3 visits per day, the math is:

3 x 80 x 2 = 480 Ray Guns from aliens
645 - 480 = 165 extra needed
You get 1 Ray Gun from each squish when visiting neighbors, max of 90 per 24 hours, so that's 75 more I need from other sources every day. Not gonna be easy.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm at 1600 guns so far, averaging about 900-1000 a day.
