Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Really digging this event. Funny, lots of new and classic episode references. Buying lots of the premium stuff with donuts but I'm out of cash for my farm, will have to build back up. I'm bad about keeping on budget for the Kwik-E-Mart farm.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

It's probably from the major update the other day and nothing can be done, but I don't like the new display that can go so wide. Everything is so tiny! Nice for collecting cash and XP, but tough to find specific things (like goblins during Halloween). Also, is it just me, or do things look blurry at maximum zoom now? The part I have a real challenge with is the dialogue balloons, which are tiny! I actually have to hold the phone close to my face now, and I have young eyes! Frustrating.

I'm not impressed by this Harry Potter-themed Halloween event. First, that's not Halloween, that's just like any other wacky event they could do at any time unlike Halloween!). Second, I don't care about Harry Potter. Never read them, don't care to, either. Saw movies, they're fine. My hunch is the game players are millennials and Gen X, but I'll say the late millennials and Gen Z teens I know couldn't care less about Harry Potter. Way to stay relevant.

Oh, and nothing like having Lisa need to be simultaneously sent on two quests initerally the first five minutes of the same event. They're not getting new playerz, they should just be bold and have someone from a mid level kick something off, for once.

Love this game and The Simpsons, but these two updates aren't working for me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I play primarily on ipad and haven't noticed a change.

I like Harry Potter (watched all the movies, plan to read books 2-7 someday), and know many people ages 15-35 who are obsessed with the universe. That said, I agree this could've been done any time and didn't need to be the Halloween theme. Maybe they were running short of ideas.

Also agree about the annoying overuse of principal characters on multiple quests.

I finished the weekly railyard task and was immediately prompted to start a second one, which was weird. The donuts probably aren't worth the effort, but here I am doing the task again.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I decided to walk away from the game about a month ago, thinking I migh check back in if the Halloween prizes were interesting. They aren’t, so I deleted the app.

I played for almost four years, that’s a good run.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I still like the game but understand why anyone would quit.

We're still doing quests with the same characters who need to do that tasks. It seems to be a pretty clear attempt to make people spend donuts on new characters who can participate in the event. Fortunately I have enough free cash to always get more donuts.

I'm pretty cash poor because I need to regulate myself better with the Kwik-E-Mart farming technique.

The Halloween event was lazily put by EA. Almost 3/4 of the crafting items are repeats from past years Halloween events and the lack of storyline and adding characters to do task shows that EA may be reaching its end with this game.

I agree it was lazy but after cleansing the monsters, they will drop very neat bonus items. The railroad 5 donut bonus seems to extend for the duration of the event so it may be good idea to get Lisa’s recycling plant or always keep your characters doing the railroad task

eta: I am waiting to purchase a very special, iconic character from the Treehouse episodes.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, I was disappointed to see Werewolf Flanders as the final crafting item.

I've been cranking out railroad stuff constantly. It would make sense if they switched it just for the event.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Oddly, one of the tasks on my taskbar (cryogenics part 2) involves a character (Jasper) who I don't even have. I thought that kind of stuff was filtered out, but maybe not.

Same here, with two premium characters that I don't have.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Weird, my version of the app is still letting me play the Halloween event and didn't even offer me the Thanksgiving update.

I think the update was forced today on all users.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

In the past they've made premium characters very affordable. I think I got Barney for something like 50 donuts for the space event. Nothing like that here for Jasper?

I have no idea what some of the prizes I got from the wizard event even are. Is that a broken via stop bench?! I've got 50 of them.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, they should've put Jasper in the vault if they were going to try to force him on people. He's expensive because he comes with the community center, and I've thought about getting him because he was in the kickball event, etc. I should probably just suck it up and buy him along with the cobblestone path, but the latter would require some work on my town, which I've let lag for a while now.

I placed all the wizard prizes at the beginning because they were new and cool, but now I have tons of them.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Want to you all need Jasper for? He doesn't show up for my Thanksgiving tasks at all.

There are a bunch of characters they need to update to be sent on tasks with the rest if them via unemployment office, mostly from the spy stuff.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Grandpa and Jasper are required for a Cryogenics quest. The EA forum says this or something like it has randomly popped up for some people.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Huh, weird.

In other news, I havemt updated the OP in forever. Would it be helpful for me to do that, at this point, and if so, what would be helpful?

I think updating the list of active and inactive players might be useful.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Tons of stuff available in the mystery boxes. I tried the outdoors one a couple times in hopes of getting the gorge or the sign but no luck so far. Then I tried the character one and got Powell Motors with the character, so that's pretty good. I'm not buying the gold one, though (I got the Mars colony from the free one).
