Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I ended up getting Sgt. Skinner for five donuts, so I got pretty close. I honestly keep forgetting to visit friends' towns so I have to get into the habit of it. Feels like I hit the 4-hour mark for the machine very, very often and it was still a squeaker. How did everyone else do?
For those who didn't have Frank before this event, what was the deal to get him for Act 2? I remember nabbing Barney for an amazing deal back during the space event.

Just picked up Frink. It was Frink, his lab, and a Fembot for 200 donuts with a 75 donut rebate. So 125 all in all. Fembot has an Ex-Machina like mission with Milhouse for event currency as well.

I upgraded a few times at first instead of crafting until I noticed what happened when I crafted. The Tapped Out blogs aren't getting info out as well as they used to, it seems, though some of the posts seem like filler so it's tough to find what I actually need there, in terms of info.

I'm still annoyed by the crafting thing, but whatever. I'm sure I'll still get enough of the revenue buildings and stuff. There is a fair amount of filler on TSTO (I'm sure they need a steady stream of posts to stay legit) and that is a bit of a barrier to me for looking up stuff. The only thing I initially crafted was a bunch of flowers so that might not have moved the needle enough for me to notice.

There is an easy albeit time consuming way to earn crafting material and event currency. It's a glitch, if anyone is interested I'll send you a PM.
Edit: The glitch is dead

Yeah, I didn't try the glitch, but I heard it was fixed in the last update. Oh well.
I already had Frink so I purchased Fembot and the building for 100 donuts. I've earned two Act 2 prizes with 10 days to go so I figure I'll make it, but it doesn't hurt to have Fembot.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got President Lisa with two days to spare and got the extra 3000 once for 3 donuts. Definitely tapping less robots during the attacks than Act 1. That was around 40+ and now it's 30-35 in Act II and III.
Wish the Black Hole (like other items) could be stored, but it can't. So I sent everyone to plunder the future for four hours and now they're needed to go off and do something else. It's weird how many things can't be stored in this game. Part of me sometimes wants to nuke the town just to see what and who are left (Cookie Kwan, for example, can't be stored, either).
I miss all of you. This game isn't nearly as social as it used to be. I remember we used to do teamwork and cheer each other on but the events over the last year, while fun and funny, have a very different feel in terms of getting people together and that's unfortunate.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got Lisa and a few rounds of bonuts. This act is only a week but only a few prizes, and defending against the robots is now harder. I didn't have Lampwick so I bought the house/rocket combo for 100, which is pretty good for a character, building, and 2% multiplier. I still haven't earned Homer's Dream House, and I have a huge backload of future bucks I'll have to unload this week.
Network was down for a while earlier today.
And yeah, I have no desire to revisit Whacking Day, but the events were more fun when we were dropping eggs on each other and stuff. Now we don't even know when people are visiting our towns, unless there ISN'T an event going on. Oh well.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Were the adult Maggie and Scheming Homer ever available as donut purchases? I don't remember that at all but they're still there on the potential character group.

Adult Maggie was, She might have came with the future arena. Word is Evil Homer is free at the end of the quest line, but he is an NPC.

This event was okay, but I agree that the social aspect was sorely missed. I liked getting some playable future characters. I wasn't keen on being forced to craft everything - including multiples of stuff I didn't really want - just to unlock the next level of items.
Bring on Halloween! And this would probably never happen, but if we were to get a mini-event for the election, I would LOVE to have a hand holding Bill Clinton and Bob Dole in the game.

That would be funny. Maybe they could be skins for Kang and Kodos!
I hope they get back to the social aspect. It would certainly bolster us here as a community and get our thread more active to cheer each other on and have teamwork. I did propose a while back creating our own events like contests for favorite Springfields or hilarious set-ups, etc. Could still be fun.
Too bad I missed out on Future Maggie.
Anybody else think the Cyborg Stephen Hawking looks a lot more like a Cyborg Stephen Colbert?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I guess we can't accuse EA of ignoring Tapped Out, at least. Every time I try to play, I have to download 600 MB of updates.
I'm still sitting on 20K future bucks. I don't really want any more office mushrooms so I'll have to max out another building or two. Using robot parts to upgrade the printer instead of crafting certainly didn't help.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, ideally you want the buildings to produce at the same frequency as you play the game, but so far I've only bought the longer-build ones because the townhouses remind me of the Springfield Heights ones. I'm already tired of the office towers and global housing, though so I'll try to get the billboards and hover car just for something different, and townhouses if I have anything left.

Yeah, it's a nice way to get a little house farm going. I was going to skip some of the billboard stuff but it might be nice to have a little new flair.

Hmm, the prize track has ended, but the robots are still wandering around, and crafting and bonuts are still live. I loaded up with various buildings and am down to about 3K in future bucks, but I'll try to squeeze out another bonus and a few more items.

Trying to reach the robot parts to get the Homer dream house...650 parts away. I see there is an update out there but I'll keep going until I'm forced.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I used up nearly all my robot parts and future bucks and was a ways away from more bonuts, so I went ahead and upgraded. SciFighter is still there, but when I tried to play it, it told me that I wouldn't get any rewards from it. I won't bother to do that anymore.
