Not that the game itself was bad, but I hate what this game and its sequels did to the industry.

In terms of genuinely bad games, I don't really buy them. Pretty easy to anticipate that sort of thing.

Turning Point is REALLY bad. I too forced myself to finish it and I don't know why. At least it had an Oscar winner composing the score.

I'd also vote for Duke Nukem and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

I've played worse than all three of these, but not to completion, so it's hard to judge.

I've actually been pretty good at avoiding bad games this cycle - even with review embargoes, you get a good sense of if a game's gonna be great or a dud these days. Now, back in the 8-bit days, even if a game was out for a while, you had no idea if you'd end up with a turd sandwich. I still can't believe I lucked out with the first Mega Man game, buying it new, not knowing anything about it, with that atrocious cover, that it turned out so well. That's the stuff I remember, the bad stuff I try to forget.

I bought the one for PS2. It was a budget 19.99 game but even that was too much. I played it once and never turned it on again.

It was because of that turd of a cover that I didn't buy it and picked up Jaws instead. We ended up loving that game all the same though it was definitely nowhere near as good as Megaman. I jumped onto the Megaman boat with II.

I think it was the screenshot on the back that sold me - that was how I gauged my games back then, and it worked more often than not.

Rock Revolution is my worst game of this generation.
I played, and finished Turning Point - Fall of Liberty.

(Dis)honorable mentions: Need For Speed - Pro Street, Ridge Racer 7, Top Spin 3, Shaun White Snowboarding, Midnight Club - Los Angeles, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, MLB 08 - The Show, NBA 09 - Inside, Quake Wars - Enemy Territory, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, Turning Point - Fall of Liberty). Luckily I didn't pay more than $10 for any of those.

At least Power Gig had some good songs by the original artists (though their exclusivity deals did seem to fuck things up for Rock Band DLC -- never getting Layla breaks my heart). As bad as Power Gig was, it didn't come with peripherals that looked like Fisher Price play-toys.

Rock Revolution is bad, real bad. But it was more enjoyable than Darkest of Days. I tried to stomach it through the end, but it was not possible.

Fairytale Fights is possibly the worst I have ever played. It just fundamentally does not work and the game, possibly knowing it sucks, deleted our saved game for no reason.

Honorable mentions to Two Worlds, Turning Point, Darkest of Days, Vampire Rain, Rock Revolution, Damnation (Just terrible), Power Gig, Infernal (stupid game just didn't even work and then froze) ...ugh so many!
