Re: Bungie - Destiny
OK here we go!
First thing I'll mention was in the teaser, and that is Prison Of Elders will not just be Fallen based. There will be Hive and Cabal enemies as well. Vex wasn't shown, but could be in there too (not that imprisoning time traveling robots makes much sense).
Prison Of Elders has matchmaking for the base Level 28 mode. This can be run as often as you want, like the Strike playlists.
There are also 3 different challenge modes at Level 32, 34 and 35. No Matchmaking here. These are weekly based events like Raids/Nightfalls.
Each wave has a different modifier, like slower cooldown times, etc.
Professor Broman is using a 4th Horseman...asshole!
These guys playing really suck. I understand why Deej hosted the PVP event last week instead of playing.
In addition to killing waves of enemies, there will be objectives as well. You will have to capture areas at times, such as one where there is a mine that needs to be defused. So you can't just hide in cover all the time.
Jeez, they are annoying as piss. Giant ass cannons sometimes spawn that you can use. You'd think they were getting blown when that cannon arrived.
One of the modifiers is Brawler, which is the opposite of Lightswitch. (Your melees deal much more damage)
Another modifier: Shield takes more damage, but doesn't replenish. UGH. Maybe Red Death helps...
Another critical objective: Eliminate Target like public events. Joy.
No checkpointing. Once you finish a round your progress is saved in that session, but if you leave you have to restart from the beginning again.
Why the hell would you not use a Sunsinger here?
The old pecking order seems to be back: Sunsingers/Defenders/carry whatever the Hunter comes in as
There are 5 rounds. Meaning these guys will finish just as Xur arrives...
Burns can be modifiers.
The secondary hand cannon is a quick firing pistol.
There is a Vex themed battle, so all enemies are represented.
Am I this annoying? If so, I really need to start twitching...
And DeeJ finally realizes it'd be a good idea to be a Sunsinger. He also uses Lance Nova Bombs. W.T.F.?
OK, I like the machine pistol secondary.
Now I get why DeeJ is playing. They want to make this look really really hard.
And they give up in the 4th Round. This mode is gonna be tough, but DeeJ is really horrible.
And that's that. Again, it's a video of them playing the game instead of giving us details.

Not only do these guys suck, they are also incredibly annoying. Specifically Broman...what an enormous douchbag.

Do you like killing things?
Do you REALLY like killing things?
Do you like killing them in close, tight spaces with little cover?
If you answered yes, you'll like Prison Of Elders.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Summary from Reddit:
Prison of Elders
• Four levels of difficulty for Prison of Elders: level 28, level 32, level 34, level 35
• Level 28 will have NO weekly lockout, but 32, 34, and 35 will
• There are 6 versions of PoE for the challenge modes (32, 34, 35)
• Level 35 will be the same each week, but each week, 32 and 34 will change. There are 5 possible "curated" versions for 32 and 34.
• The Prison of Elders consists of 4 Rounds, each Round having 3 Waves to eliminate, then a Strike-style boss after the 4th Round
• Starting with Round 2, Critical Objectives can appear after Wave 1 or Wave 2. Examples seen in the stream included timed mine defusing (capture each zone before time runs out or you wipe) and VIP kill (just like the public event, but failure = wipe)
• After Wave 2, you get The Gift, which can be a Scorch Cannon (more on that bad boy later) or a Heavy Ammo chest. There might be additional Gift possibilities, but those two are the ones we saw.
Gear
• Scorch Cannon: It's Michael Bay Mode. This baby fires sticky warheads and can be charged up to increase the devastation it unleashes. It has limited ammo, so use it wisely, but it looks VERY useful in the Prison of Elders.
• Vestian Dynasty: BRAND NEW WEAPON CLASS!!! Vestian Dynasty is a Legendary Sidearm that is basically a repeating pistol. Looks a lot like the guns wielded by The Queen's Awoken guards. Can't wait to learn more about this gun and the class itself.

ACTIVISION FURTHER TEASES HUGE THIRD QUARTER DESTINY UPDATE
No details, other than it exists, and it will be a big one.
BY SETH G. MACY
During its first quarter conference call with investors, Activision teased a huge new update for Destiny "across all modes" slated for later this year.
"We'll have a major release which is the biggest addition to the Destiny universe yet," said Activision CEO Bobby Kotick, adding that the company is confident it will "be compelling not just to current Destiny fans, but to people who have not yet see the Destiny universe."

DESTINY: MAJOR CHANGES ARE COMING TO THE NIGHTFALL AND WEEKLY STRIKE MISSIONS
Get ready for a welcome change
BY DESTIN LEGARIEMajor changes are coming to the Nightfall and Weekly Heroic Strikes in Destiny. The most notable change is that you’ll no longer be playing the same mission for the Nightfall and the Weekly Heroic.
During our Bungie visit, the team explained that in an effort to reduce repetitiveness, they’ve decided to change it up. However, there is still a chance that you could be locked out of one of the weekly activities if you didn’t purchase the DLC, though they also plan on combating that issue for players who don’t wish to upgrade.
Matt Sammons, the Lead Designer on House of Wolves, said the following: “We’ve heard the feedback from players about not being able to do the weekly activities, so two things we wanted to do were always have one of the activities available if you didn’t have one of the DLC’s. So you’ll never have where all of the missions are from the House of Wolves expansion. We also wanted to have more variety for all players so we’ve actually uncoupled the Nightfall and Heroic so those will be different every week now.”
Bungie did admit that while the DLC missions will be featured heavily in the beginning, the team plans on spacing it out a bit more.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
So grinding Vanguard marks isn't too bad by following the public events as some of you said....however, my Vanguard rank is still 0! Boy is it a pain leveling that up at 10 or 50 at a time!! At least I have a bit of time to grind before HoW.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
That's what bounties are for. Make sure you're doing the Vanguard bounties as well. You can also do the Weekly heroic at Level 24 to boost your rank.
