Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

It was the season pass, you had to buy it on last gen and also "buy" it on new gen by 5/31.

Well, I was "game sharing" it from a friend so that's why it won't transfer over.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I beat the game this morning. Really enjoyed it, I explored every location, got every collectible, etc.

The only couple things really left for me to do is fully upgrade the Jackdaw (takes so much metal!!) and to defeat the Legendary Ships. I have avoided all so far because I want to take them on after I've upgraded the Jackdaw.

Moved onto this after finally completing AC3. Yup, this is definitely better! I can't wait to dive back in...

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I got this game bundled with my X-Box One and think its pretty good. It probably is the most I've ever played an Assassin's Creed title as I usually find them sort of repetitive. This one is kind of that way too but I've found myself enjoying it for the most part. I probably won't go straight into Unity after I finish this though.

I beat 2 of the 4 Legendary Ships missions and then gave up.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I usually skip past most of the side content and just focus on the Main Story. But for this one I love exploring the islands and collecting different shit. I think it's cause everything is so spread out it adds to a variety of things to do making it less repetitive. I'm only on sequence 4 and have logged over 20 hrs! Too much fun

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I've been trying to get back into this as well. I find it as boring and repetitive as every other AC game, just prettier. Controls are still awful, missions are still the same old thing. I always rate the missions when they're finished, and anything that involves tailing and/or eavesdropping, which is of course nearly all of them, gets 1 star.

I've never rated a mission, but I wish I had thought of that. Tailing missions are so annoying.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Apparently the developers are listening; both Unity and Rogue have considerably less tailing, and zero eavesdropping (that I can recall).

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

I finished this up on Saturday. Loved everything except the stupid present day sections. I was expecting some sort of payoff like
Spoiler:
You get sent to the present day observatory

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

Kind of a franchise question here...

I got the Xbox One with Unity and Black Flag, but I'd never gotten around to playing AC1 on my 360. I'm playing that now to get a feel for the game and mostly enjoying it despite some annoying parts. Is it OK to skip AC2 and 3 and all the peripherals and go straight to the new games? I've heard as many good things about 2 as I've heard bad about 3 so I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything really good, or if it'd be OK to skip 2 now and go back to it someday if I really want to.

2 is the best game in the series. Don't skip it.

Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood and Black Flag are the series highlights imho.

Agreed. Thought I do like Unity just because of the impressiveness of it's Paris. But game wise, AC2, Brohood and BF all the way. AC3 is the worst one and entirely skipable.

This. I felt Revelations was a rush job. Only get it if you enjoyed AC1.

Echoing what everyone else said here... In terms of the series II, Black Flag and Brotherhood are the three best titles.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)

#2 and Brotherhood are $9.99 each with Gold, but the disc above with all three is also like $20 so I'll stick with that plan.

This is for free on XBL, if you've got gold. Army of Two: Devil's Cartel too.

It's really worth playing till the end. I thought those last missions were very well made.

Amazingly I now have this game for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and the 360. Way more than I need.

I almost had a heart attack reading that...

I had ranked it 7th on my legendary, though outdated (made it in 2010) best 360 games...
