Played it this weekend finally for the first time. Busted through about four and maybe a half of the levels. It is a button masher, the environments are a little drabber than what I was hoping for but when it comes to sick combos, easy to play and a ton of humorous one-liners, the game has it in spades. Lots of fun, I would certainly recommend it at the $20 level. Unless it just starts boring me to tears in the later levels, I can see myself replaying it at least once.

I found the difficulty ramped up a lot on the last couple of levels. I did finish it, but was extremely frustrated on the last level. I traded it in that day not wanting to even go back and finish off some of the achievements.
I paid $20, and until the end thought it was okay.

Surprisingly it's one of the toughest games to rent at Game Fly with a Very Low availability on both systems still. I think they underestimated the demand for this game, along with the fact it seems like a great game to rent rather than to buy.

Beat the game last night on Veteran. The last level was difficult but once you get your feet underneath you, you can really pull out some sick combos and kick some ass. My major tip to make the game easier is buy upgrades as soon as you can. The best combo I found weapons wise is to upgrade your shotgun (the pistol is good enough for the few long range situations you have) and upgrade you hammers. I had my hammers and shotguns on max damage at the end and it was pulling out massive damage. Also invest in your combos. They will save your ass considerably.
Overall, the game was a ton of fun. I'm certainly going back and replaying sections to get many of the remaining achievements. The challenge sections will be easy for me on Bronze and Silver, but I played a Gold on the last challenge last night and Wave 3 was just nuts. I can knock down a Tubbie in no time flat, but 4 of them in the same wave is crazy. For anybody who likes Comic Book games, this one is a no brainer at about $20.

Bought this before Christmas for $15. I am enjoying the game, lots of good humor. I still have to upgrade my guy. I've spent tons of cash on health, and upgrading the pistols, but now I think I need to buy a machine gun.

Yeah, I picked it up for $12 from Best Buy. It's not terrible, but it is frustratingly shoddy and lazy. Nothing says "Rush job" like playing huge sewer levels. It's just boring. The animations and frame rates are very choppy. Textures are dull and muddy. Little things scream of a game that just cut corners : When you die, you get a quick interstitial with Deadpool that is supposed to be like the clips you see in the Arkham games when you die, but here they're like 2 seconds long and glitchy -- one of them it looks like maybe he presses a detonator button but it's cut so quickly, it's hard to tell.
I didn't like how crude it was. Unnecessary foul language that harkens back to the glory days of Bulletstorm, gross environments, making Deadpool poop on camera. Didn't need that
That said, it can be pretty fun to play in that God of War-style run and gun mode. I don't hate the game - it was actually kind of fun in parts, but with so many good unplayed games, this isn't the one I'm clamoring to get back into.
BTW : After the Activision deal expired at the end of 2013, this game (and a lot of other Marvel games) got delisted from PSN, Xbox Marketplace and Steam. So if you find a copy in-store, you might just want to grab it; there aren't going to be others manufactured later.

I know, I know, I'm resurrecting a year old thread. But anyway, for those who are voting on the Xbox One's Backward Compatibility Forum, please vote for Deadpool. An admin finally added it to the official vote after about half a dozen threads were created in another forum about it. Most of the games that I will think make it already have about a 5,000 to 10,000 vote head start...but here is hoping.

Why is it that we can't have all the 360 games on the One? Would it be that hard to just let it read the goddamn disc?
A licensing thing or what?

Because publishers have to give approval for the games to be backwards compatible.
That, and BC is still in beta preview.

This game will never be approved for back-compat on XBox One. The license ran out awhile ago, and was even pulled off of Steam.

Really? *sigh*, I guess that's why it is not sold digitally. I have a feeling I'll be keeping my Xbox 360 even after I get a XB1. Heck, it will probably still get more mileage even then. With all of the voting going on with BC, I'm running now into game after game that I'm like....I never got around to playing that, I should, and then I start looking at used prices.

Kind of random, and maybe a sign of hope for the backwards compatibility list, but this re-appeared on Steam again - http://store.steampowered.com/app/224060/DP
Wonder if Activision and Marvel worked out something.

Btw...1000+ votes and counting. Not groundbreaking, but when I figure it was a late entry and 5,000 votes or more gets you into the hunt (or just what I'm guessing), *shrug*.

I've been curious about this but never picked it up. Might check and see if Gamestop or somewhere has a used copy for cheap.

The gameplay is weak and rough. The graphics aren't up to par for the generation. But the tone and the story are so much fun. I got it from Amazon earlier this year for like 20 bucks new.

Rats I guess there goes any chance of it being backwards compatible, I still have my 360 copy in shrink wrap.

Wow, $50? Seems like it should have been $30 max. Wonder if there's anything new added.
