It's not just going to be Rocksteady. Expect that to be the norm going forward.

I haven't paid any attention whatsoever to the Wii U. Is it actually dead already?

I don't think the Wii U is dead but Nintendo's problem the past couple of generations is that they've basically been a generation behind the competition. So essentially the Wii U is capable of what the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3 could do and now we're on to newer versions of both those consoles.

The Wii U isn't dead as long as Nintendo keeps making first party games for it. Just don't expect a lot coming from other publishers because they won't be able to port games over for it. Hence why this game isn't coming out PS3 & 360.

re: Batman: Arkham Knight - 6/23/15 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC

New details have emerged from the Game Informer cover story of Batman: Arkham Knight, and there's a lot to take in. First off, "Arkham Knight" is actually the name of a new villain that was created by DC Entertainment. The character will apparently "really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways." The old voice cast is also back, including Kevin Conroy as Batman.

There will no multiplayer, because Rocksteady says they are "making the best single-player experience it can." The story will take place one year after Arkham City, where the crime rate has declined, in a map that's five times as big as City. Rocksteady also calls this a true next-gen game, where over 50 enemy models can be on-screen at once during a riot.

They're also aiming to make the Batmobile "the best car in any game ever," and it instantly appears at your location after pressing a button.

Finally, Rocksteady said that they "most definitely" will not do a Batman related game next. There are a whole lot more details out there, and I know some of you would prefer to wait and be surprised later this year.
Rocksteady was able to utilize the new technical power the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One offered, allowing them to have more on-screen characters at any given time, as well as making all cutscenes rendered in-engine, versus pre-rendering as done in previous games.

I went from buying a Wii U to an XBox One to go with my PS4 after 2 or 3 bad news items for Wii U last month.

When they say that "the old voice cast is also back," do they mean the AA or AC cast. Because Arleen Sorkin was replaced by Tara Strong in AC. I usually like Tara Strong but never cared for her take on Harley. She was better in AO as Harleen but that was before the character totally lost it so it technically doesn't count.

Given the previous games in the series, I bet Arkham Knight is none other than
Spoiler:
the Joker (very much not dead afterall).
Unless they draw inspiration from the ending of "The Untold Legend of the Batman", which would be pretty cool if handled just right.

They've said Tara Strong is Harley.

Definitely in for the PC version.

That trailer was so awesome that I wish whoever produced it where the ones doing the Assault on Arkham animated movie. Would be a distinct change of pace from your typical DC animated movie.

That's a shame. I was hoping Arleen Sorkin would be back for this.

Hopefully there's a collectors edition of this entry. I assume there will be since the previous three games have had one. Definitely sounds like Rocksteady is putting in full efforts on this game. Really can't wait for it, my only dilemma now is the decision between a Playstation 4 or X-Box One.

I hope there isn't because then I'll have to wait until it's massively discounted like the last 3 instead of just buying it and enjoying it. For Origins I returned one I bought for $120, the one I bought for $90, and almost returned the one I bought for $65 to get it for $55.

Rumor out that the map is around the same size as GTA 5's map. Person also claimed that you would be able work missions as Bruce Wayne during the day and have car chases with the GCPD. Not sure if that jives with the trailer but ....

Actually I think it might be
Spoiler:
Hush. There was the rumor just a few days before Arkham Knight was revealed that Hush would be the primary antagonist in the new game. Considering Hush's backstory, it makes sense for him to be "Arkham Knight" the opposite of Batman's "Dark Knight."

Also, I just remembered that Arkham Origins had that post-credits teaser with Suicide Squad. I wonder if that will be in Arkham Knight, or possibly Rocksteady's next game since they are apparently done with Batman after Arkham Knight.

Wasn't that revealed in the GI article?

And he actually had a whole side quest directly related to him in AC. Good call.

It looks like the "reimagined" Robocop with bat ears.

Which is hilarious since everyone thought the new Robocop looked like Nolan's Batman.
