SpaceVenture interests me, but I think i'm going to hold off on supporting any other projects after donating to Double Fine, Wasteland 2, and Leisure Suit Larry. I want to see one of these actually come through and deliver a good product before continuing to just throw money at interesting concepts.

Starlight Inception has 12 hours left:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ht-inceptiontm
It's "the rebellious stepchild of Wing Commander, X-wing and Freespace2, taking a fresh approach to the classic space combat genre."
It's gotten some major amounts of funding in the past few days (over $30K), but it's going to need a big last-minute push to reach its goal:

Republique is only $40,000 away from their goal with one day left. They've had a few crazy days of funding, like yesterday where they earned $50,000, so a last minute push over the top seems possible:

A Kickstarter has been created to fund a tech demo for Pathfinder Online:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...echnology-demo
It's interesting because it's basically a Kickstarter to fund a promo for traditional investors and publishers. It's almost completely funded already, despite not offering the game as a reward.
Here's an article about some of the less successful Kickstarters:
http://venturebeat.com/2012/05/09/fi...may-never-see/
Here's an article about the problems projects outside the US have in starting a Kickstarter (due to Amazon Payments being US-only):

It's pretty crazy to consider that about half their funds came in the last 3 days, and the very last day accounted for 30% of the money they raised.

Xenonauts, a spiritual successor to X-Com:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/69341191/xenonauts
There's a demo of the alpha version of the game available that you can play before backing.
The game has already been on Desura as part of the site's "alpha-funding" feature since last November. People who pre-ordered on Desura are eligible for the kickstarter bonuses, but also already have access to the latest builds of the game:

The Two Guys Spaceventure has broke $100K, and have thus put up a prototype game for everyone to play:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...pace-que/posts
It's really short, but it's got some amusing narration. They're going to be expanding the prototype after every additional $100K of funding.

Yeah, I downloaded that (and Chrome) last night. Pretty amusing, got me to at least keep watching the page and think about it. I missed out on LSL (I waited too long, and then my browser was acting up) and am still missing my old Sierra point and click fix. So this one should get funded, we'll see.

They are at 99% funded, need less than 5k in the next 7 hours.

But if I do give $100, I think I'm going to stay away from Kickstarter for a while . (Unless my college best friend's new game company he works for does one...which I could easily see since they are trying to fund a new game, then all bets are off).

Double Fine has just announced the ability for latecomers to back their project, basically an extended pre-order like for Wasteland 2 and LSL:
The site for pre-ordering is this:
http://www.doublefine.com/dfa/
However, the site seems to be overloaded at the moment, and I can't load the page.
Stumbled across another interesting Kickstarter. This one is for an RPG called Malevolence, which will have an infinitely large, persistent, procedurally-generated game world:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...e-infinite-rpg
The developer previously made Dungeon Master Pro, a web client for playing Dungeons and Dragons with people online.
Here's a series of articles with the main developer on how he designed a game with an infinite world, with infinite quests and even infinite weapon designs.
http://www.altdevblogaday.com/2012/0...-video-gaming/
http://www.doolwind.com/blog/game-de...me-programmer/
Starting today we are allowing latecomers (let's call them "Slacker Backers") to support the project through PayPal. They will only have access to the $15 tier--the game and the development updates--while all physical rewards remain completely exclusive to you punctual types.
We think this is a good way to help the project while keeping special rewards like the t-shirt, poster, and big box one-time-only deals.

OK, the Double Fine site appears to be back up and taking pre-orders:
http://www.doublefine.com/dfa/
As a bonus, they've released the first episode of the documentary to the general public, with a new intro by Tim Shafer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMbQRnoxZ2E
They also have sent some press an image of the upcoming game in the form of a jigsaw puzzle, although some had better luck assembling it than others...

I know the XCom shooter is a little off-putting, but I thought the remake should be right what XCom fans are looking for. There are two different games and look to appeal to two different groups of people. Just my two cents.

Aren’t we already getting a remake of X-Com? An official one?
Yes, we are. In case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last six months, it’s in production by Firaxis and is called XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Ultimately, though, the Firaxis remake is a different type of game to Xenonauts. They have changed quite a few of the fundamentals of the game, streamlining things and removing elements like Time Units and weapon ammo, limiting the player to a single base and shrinking down squad sizes. These changes aren't necessarily bad, but the end result is that their game is taking a rather different form to ours.
Xenonauts is taking the core mechanics of X-Com and updating and balancing them so they are deeper and more intuitive, but not changing the fundamentals.
So Xenonauts is a more faithful remake and the Firaxis game is a more progressive remake. It is a matter of personal preference which you will find more appealing - though you could always buy both!

Two Guys from Andromeda have put up a survey to see what they should add to their prototype next, as well as soliciting ideas for additional reward tiers:
