Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Some more info on the Indie Royale May Hurray Bundle. First off, some reviews.

Metacritic scores:

Data Jammers: FastForward, and Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space and Dr. Blob's Organism are all by the same developer, Digital Eel.

Digital Eel has quite a few free games, including Dr. Blob's Organism, available on their site. The free game Strange Adventures in Infinite Space is apparently the predecessor to Weird Worlds:

Reviews for Strange Adventures in Infinite Space:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/st...infinite-space
http://www.gamerankings.com/pc/55908...ace/index.html

Digital Eel also included the bonus compilation soundtracks. However, they didn't included this soundtrack for Data Jammers, which you can pay-what-you-want for here:

Dungeon Defenders is awesome. If you don't already own it, it is worth getting for that price alone.

I already own Dungeon Defenders, and the only other one that even peaks my interest is Containment: The Zombie Puzzler so I think this is a pass.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

For anyone that bought Groupees Build A Bundle, they just got Steam keys for Dark Fall: Lost Souls, so check your account page if you had bought this game and were missing the Steam key. They added Dark Souls: Lights Out Director's Cut as a bonus for anyone who buys or has bought the game, as a DRM-free download (the download has both games).

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Just noticed that the "Ironclads Collection" in Indie Gala 5 is actually a Steam key for all 5 games in the Ironclads series. In that one key you get these 5 games:
  • Ironclads: American Civil War
  • Ironclads: High Seas
  • Ironclads: Schleswig War 1864
  • Ironclads: Anglo Russian War 1866
  • Ironclads: Chincha Islands War 1866

Those normally sell for $10 each, for a value of $50. So if those games look like your cup of tea, this bundle is a terrific value. I've amended my previous post.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Indie Royale Graduation Bundle has launched:
http://www.indieroyale.com/blog/the-graduation-bundle

The Games are:
  • The Void for: steam (pc), windows, desura
  • Dead Pixels for: windows, desura
  • The Ship for: steam (pc) - Redeeming should put 2 gifts of the "2-pack" in your steam inventory as well.
  • 1000 Amps for: steam (pc and mac), windows, mac, desura
  • LaserCat for: windows, desura
  • BONUS: AirMech (BETA) for: steam, windows, desura
w/ exclusive in-game item, the Graduation Cap (+5% persistent XP) (in-game code)

If you pay $7 or more, you'll get Cheap Dinosaurs' acclaimed self-titled chiptune-rock album, in MP3 and FLAC.

Edit: From the product description for The Ship:
Quote:
NOTE: This Steam-only game comes with one key for yourself and two keys to give out to your friends, each of which have additional bonus keys attached.
2nd edit: I've learned that redeeming should put 2 gifts of the "2-pack" in your inventory, meaning you essentially get 5 keys for the game: 1 for yourself, 2 to gift to friends, and 2 more for your friends to gift 1 each.

Are there good games here beyond the base tier (besides Disciples II, which we all got free from GMG last week)? Trying to decide if I should spring for the $4 or $6 levels. Still have some time to go on this one, fortunately.

You can trade the GMG Disciples II Gold in for a $5 credit on their site.

Note that Indie Gala IV had Disciples II: Gallean's Return on a higher tier, while this Indie Gala V has Disciples II: Rise of The Elves on the highest tier. Which means that if you bought both from Indie Gala, you'll have the majority of content in the Disciples II Gold edition.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discipl...s_and_versions

As for other games, there's people that like Ninja Blade and Puzzle Kingdoms. Space Empires IV got generally good reviews when it was released in 2000, although this is the Deluxe version released in 2006:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/space-empires-iv
http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.h...numrev=3&site=

Also keep in mind that the bonus music and games will only be unlocked for those that bought the highest tier. You could wait to see what's unlocked if you're still undecided.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Groupees Build-A-Bundle has released their first extras, which are three albums:
As noted above, the Disasterpeace collection is actually 3 different soundtracks, although they only have on average 3 tracks each, for 9 total.

The Armcanon collection is 10 tracks, with 5 tracks each from "Return of the Attack of the Legend of Pizzor" and "LegVacuum".

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Something not noted about the Indie Royale Graduation Bundle before you purchase it is that there's downloads of bonus material for AirMech and The Void.

The AirMech bonus material is some concept art, wallpapers, poster art, and character art.

The Void bonus material includes some concept art, the English manual in PDF, and a 4 track MP3 sampler of the soundtrack.

Want even more bonus content for The Void? The developers have an official torrent of bonus material, available here:
http://www.tension-game.com/index_en.php
Quote:
Inside you will find almost everything of interest that was created during development:
  • The complete original soundtrack in four virtual disks contains all the tracks that made it into the game, all unreleased tracks that didn't make it into the game for some reason, poems and mantras and re-mastered tracks for the English edition of the game.
  • 6 trailers including the earliest gameplay trailer, 2 videos from KRI (Russian GDC) and a Game Music Video from Pathologic by Halfgild Wynac.
  • Almost all the artwork and concepts from the game, even in print quality! The Void poster anyone? ;o)
  • Know Russian? Then you'll find the three lectures on game design by Nikolay Dybowskiy read at KRI most interesting! As well as a video interview for the LKI magazine
.
The thing is massive, 4.17GB, due to the soundtrack being in FLAC. Note that the original name of the game is Tension, hence the name of official website and some of the bonus materials.

[Update] English subtitles for some of the Russian language videos have been created. You can download them below:
Subtitles for Interview.wmv
Subtitles for KRI_Part1.wmv and KRI_Part2.wmv
