Stealth games for XBox 360?
I just finished 007: Bloodstone and 007: Quantum of Solace on the 360 and LOVED them--but mostly because they weren't like most FPS's out there--they are about 75%+ stealth. In other words, you spend a lot of the game hiding behind walls and sneaking up to/around enemies for the kill.
I've been asking around but can't find anyone who has played any other good 360 stealth games. Anyone here recommend any? I haven't played a lot of 360 games, so no problem if it's older.

Ah yes, I played the first Deus Ex on the PC. I'll check it out.

Wasn't a Hitman game released on the 360 a while back? Blood Money, I think. There's a new one coming out soon, but we'll see how stealthy it is.
There's also the Metal Gear Solid collection. |

Both Batman games, although it's not primarily stealth gameplay.

I would say the Batman Arkham games and the Assassin's Creed games are all excellent games that have stealth elements to them.

First one I thought of was Assassin's Creed. Speaking of which, I still need to finish #2...

win....
Fantastic choice if you like the stealth in the 007 games...and on top of that the coop missions are a blast... should be cheap as well... Deus Ex another great choice...but not really the same as 007...

Is the Splinter Cell: Double Agent a good one, too, then? I'll check out Conviction for sure.

Re: Stealth games for XBox 360?
its ok...a bit dated, and maybe not what you are looking for..I would do the new one first...and if you like it try the older ones...

Double Agent (at least the PS3 and Xbox360 versions) is considered to be the worst in the series by a wide margin. Its actually kind of weird because the original Xbox and PS2 version of Double Agent was a very different and much better game. Its weird that the "next-gen" version got the shaft. It is backwards compatible with the 360, so if you decide to get Double Agent, I would get the original Xbox version. The original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory are all good games too and backwards compatible with the 360. Personally I would rank the series: Chaos Theory > Splinter Cell > Pandora Tomorrow > old-gen Double Agent > Conviction >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> next-gen Double Agent |

Splinter Cell... this started it for me...loved the game...but going backwards might be hard...my son Loves Conviction...and did not enjoy the older games..but he is also in his teens Conviction ...Got good reviews and sold well, but I just think it is REALLY underrated...single player alone would put it maybe third...but the coop is one of the best coop experiences ever... Pandora Tomorrow spent many many many nights playing the mp on this...so fun...so new... Chaos Theory loved the coop... next-gen Double Agent...I agree with you...it is still ok as a game... old-gen Double Agent (I never played)

Yes. Plus, Batman Begins on the original XBOX plays on the 360. It was the first Stealth game I ever liked. It helped me get into Stealth games.

Re: Stealth games for XBox 360?
Thief: Deadly Shadows is a classic stealth based Xbox game that is 360 compatible.
Personally, I think it's inferior to it's PC only predecessor, Thief 2, because they had to make compromises in level design for it to run on the Xbox, but it's still a very good game.

Velvet Assassin is pretty stealthy. I know because I played it for about 5 minutes before ripping it from my machine forever.

Not really. Games as old as this can run on modern hardware, but it usually requires a lot of tinkering. Thief 1 and 2 particularly hate multicore processors, and you have to disable the extra cores to even get the game to run. They can also be problematic on a newer OS like Vista or Win 7. Even though Through The Looking Glass Studios is long dead, the forums there are still quite active. That shows how awesome these games are, since most games this old don't have active forums. Here is a thread that will help you solve most problems you might encounter getting the games to run on modern hardware. http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031 |
