I hate to post this here, but I haven't been able to connect to the xbox site in about 2 months. I'm using Chrome and it won't let me view it. I get a white screen with the following text:


This site may be experiencing a problem
The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network
You can:
You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site.

When I google xbox, I try all of the different pages, like "Help with my account", "Marketplace", etc... I was able to go to it on IE, but for the past 2 weeks or so it won't let me either. Oddly enough, I can access the page with my phone (HTC Thunderbolt).

Any help in being able to see these pages?

Found out my account was hacked and tried to go to the xbox live site and IE wouldn't let me. Chrome would though. For those curious: It was one of those FIFA12 hackers. Hit me up for over $200 in points.

Holy shit! Have no idea what a FIFA 12 hacker is, but $200 sounds like serious fraud. Did you get everything sorted out with MS? How helpful were they in the process?

short story: Earlier this month I had to recover my gametag. Not knowing what that meant I didn't think anything of it (I only use by xbox online for netflix anyway.) Had I dug in a little deeper I would have noticed that FIFA12 was the last game played. They purchased some points at that time, but not alot so it slipped by.
Yesterday they hit me up for the big score. That I noticed. If you google it, it's happened to a bunch of people the same way. FIFA11 or 12 is the game being played and the points are always for FIFA dlc stuff.
I changed my password and called MS. The guy I talked to at MS was super helpful and didn't act a bit surprised by my incident. They lock down your account for 5 weeks while they do their investigation. Naturally I called my bank and disputed the charges from their end as well.

Wow, looks like PSN isn't the only one that got hit. It sucks that the xbox one though is actually stealing peoples money. I'm glad that didn't happen to me. I'm not putting my CC on EITHER system now.

Did they hacked you by way of guessing your password and knowing your email address?

Or how can they do that?

Considering the amount of accounts getting scammed, I doubt they're just randomly correctly guessing people's passwords. But who knows...

For what it's worth, I could actually access the XBox site today on IE, but not Chrome. Weird.

I just assumed the people getting hit were either on a list of compromised passwords from another site where they were using the same password or had something on their machine stealing the password when logging in from a browser.

Who knows. Microsoft has a grand tradition of disavowing things like this until the very last second. Remember how long it took them to actually acknowledge the red rings?

I have trouble the last few months off and on. I also got FIFA hacked, luckily I discovered it minutes after it happened and they only got $70 before being shut down. I had an old Visa gift card with $0.75 left on it and added it as my payment method.

Just a quick update. Microsoft has already resolved my account and reinstated it. 18 days total time. And they gave me a free month of Gold for my trouble. meh
