Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I'm honestly hoping there is a major upgrade released at the same time they finally announce the DLC for the single player side. It seems, after looking through the available options on the menus, that there is going to be a major overhaul but only time will tell.
Again, seems like they may finally find their groove with the online portion but things like extreme load times, disconnects, and a broken money and leveling system without question have to be fixed.
EDIT: I also don't know why Rockstar doesn't try out what Destiny does. I mean, it's cool they give you the entire map in online mode to play around in but why not have the option to section it off to improve overall performance?? I mean, load times would be better, could probably add more detail, etc...
Just thoughts I'm throwing out there. I really want to play this game non-stop like I did with the lost and damned (played through the storyline twice on it) and the ballad of gay tony.

Couldn't disagree more. GTA Online is amazing.
The crazy thing for me is that the heists are what made me lose interest in it. I haven't played it in probably a month because I would dread having to do heists with my buddies.

You can't host until you have a high end apt and at least lvl 12 , which doesn't take long to achieve.

I assumed they'd announce some single-player DLC during E3, but I guess not...
The actor who voices Franklin has been teasing stuff like him in a recording booth and wearing a motion capture suit recently. But still, they're so hush hush - and if they're just recording dialog now, that means it's still a long ways off.

so I picked this up on ps4....held off for a long time since I played it on 360 but now I'm in the mood to try out the mp... I see a lot of mixed thoughts on it but for anyone who still plays it any advice as I get started?

Well between the mp and the sp this is all I am playing right now. My friends and I are having a blast with MP. We spent 6 hours the other night doing nothing but messing around and racing...and we don't usually like racing games.
Also, I am at least 20 hours into the single player and I am enjoying it more than the first time I played it. Really surprising me how much so.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
As I've completely forgot about this game over the last 4 months or so....little bored at work today so I searched for any possible single player DLC that may be released.....While I can't confirm anything at all, A bunch of article/sites state that it looks like it's over for any single player DLC...it appears that GTA online has been very successful and that's what Rockstar is sticking too.

From Kotaku.com:

I've wasted many many hours messing around in GTAOnline (current rank 163), but in the end, it gets really really boring.
Rockstar hit it out of the park when they did Red Dead Redemption, and made quite possibly the best piece of DLC ever made with Undead Nightmare.
I was hoping for some single-player DLC for GTAV, but the game has been out for so long that I'm pretty certain we'll never see anything - it seems like they are content making $$$$$$$ by releasing subpar content for the Online stuff (those game modes are terrible, and them adding new cars and stuff but it requiring major cash to buy only angers me because they are pretty blatant about wanting you to invest real cash for their in-game money. 6 million for the just-released boat/home?
I just started replaying the story mode/single player and I'm sucked back into it like I was originally. The amount of stuff that is available in the single player that Online took out just seems so ass backward.
I'm really just hoping they announce/release another Red Dead Redemption/Western game soon so I can get sucked into that, but I've read rumors that they are going to treat RDROnline the same as they are with GTAOnline, which means we'll probably never see any DLC for that future game, either.
It's a shame that they are making so much money on GTAOnline and that the content they are "creating"/releasing is so crappy. It isn't causing them to create better stuff; just the bare minimum.

"No Wonder GTA V Hasn't Gotten Any Single Player DLC Yet
Rockstar hasn’t made any single player DLC for Grand Theft Auto V, and this long after the game’s release, it’ll probably never happen. One reason why? The game’s publisher, Take-Two Interactive, keeps bragging about how much money Grand Theft Auto Online is making.
Take-Two recently held its quarterly financial call, where it talked a big game about how well GTA Online is doing:
During the holidays, it had “best week ever for both revenues and active players during this holiday season.” (In other words, lots of people played it and bough microtransactions.)
They’re predicting GTA Online will make more money in the coming year.
While they refused to elaborate on exactly how much money is being generated by GTA Online, we can grab some hints, based on what Take-Two said here:
Starting with our results for the fiscal third quarter, net revenue was $486.8 million as compared to $954 million in last year’s third quarter, which had benefited from a more extensive release slate. This result exceeded our outlook range of $400 million to $450 million due primarily to stronger than expected revenues from Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. In addition, NBA 2K16 exceeded our expectations.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if GTA Online was making hundreds of millions of dollars, which miiiiiiiiiight explain why they dropped single player DLC.
Gaming analyst Michael Pachter, whom some Kotaku readers might be familiar with, apologized for questioning Take-Two’s DLC strategy in an analyst note. Pachter now predicts Take-Two could be making $250 million a year off it:
...the fervor with which players have embraced GTA Online suggests that it can deliver $250 million per year for several more years. Should Take-Two decide to make the game free-to-play for players who have NOT purchased the underlying console game, it is likely that overall revenues could double, and could be sustained for a very long time. Accordingly, we apologize for questioning management’s strategy, and we see merit in the pursuit of an online strategy."

Nothing solid at all but it's good to see an updated article on this - special note is that he got Johnny's name wrong from the lost and the damned (used 'Tony') and also stated that the site he got all the info from took the article down already as well - I just like checking on this from time to time 9every couple of months or so) only because it wouldn't surprise me if Rockstar added single player DLC years after a release:

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
This made me jizz my pants:
Rumor or not, they gotta know that interest in the online component can't last forever (I'm surprised it's lasted this long), so they have to bring people back with new single-player content. Heck the added files on the latest update pretty much confirms things anyways.
Other information about the incoming GTA 5 campaign DLC includes that there will be more locations to go to (we’ll be going around San Andreas to cities like San Fierro, Las Venturas, and around the wider San Andreas area.

This game in pretty much always in the top 10 of the NPDs. I don't think they are too worried with people leaving any time soon.
As long as they are working on RDR2, I don't really care what they do. I don't think they have ever supported two games at the same time though, have they?

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Yeah, both the actors that have played CJ and Franklin have teased on social media that they've been recording voice work (many of which have been taken down since), and there's even been some shots of the whole main cast in motion-capture suits over the last couple years (taken after GTA 5's release), so it's obvious some work has been done on DLC. The question is if it'll ever be completed and released.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
So Its confirmed that Rockstar has a big announcement coming up soon and it appears they're not waiting until E3 - don't mean to start the dead-end hype train again but since it's official from them...well, figured why not.
