Max Payne 3

Nice thread title huh? Just the title of the game - good stuff huh?

Well anyway......Max is ready to hangout again in March 2012:

Today, we're proud to announce that Max Payne 3 - the new dark, gritty action experience that continues the tale of former New York City detective Max Payne and is sure to satisfy both newcomers and veterans to the historic franchise alike - is expected to launch on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in March 2012 in North America and Europe.

Still haunted by the memories of his traumatic past, Max begins a new life working private security protecting a wealthy industrialist and his family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. When gangs target the family under his protection, Max is forced to fight to save his clients and clear his name, in a bid to, once and for all, rid himself of the demons that have tortured him for far too long.

A true cross-studio collaboration between Rockstar Games’ global development teams that picks up from where series creator Remedy Entertainment's Max Payne 2 left off, Max Payne 3 utilizes cutting edge technology for a seamless, cinematic action experience, incorporating the latest advances in Natural Motion physics as well as a brand new iteration of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine, resulting in highly-refined gameplay with an extensive range of realistic weaponry, an intelligent cover system and sophisticated Bullet-Time mechanics.

In addition to an expansive single-player campaign, Max Payne 3 will also be the first entry in the series to introduce a thorough and engrossing multiplayer experience. In a unique twist, Max Payne 3 multiplayer delivers a compelling experience that dynamically alters maps and mode progression for all players in a match. Along with traditional multiplayer modes, Max Payne 3 will also include a deep reward and leveling system, persistent clans and multiple strategic load-out options.

Stay tuned for much more news very soon and check out a pair of brand new screenshots from Max Payne 3 below.

Re: Max Payne 3

Simple thread titles rule!

Looking forward to this; the 2 previous games are some of my favorite PC games ever and had wonderful story. I imagine Rockstar will be able to continue that experience.

Re: Max Payne 3

I love Max Payne (particularly the lesser appreciated second game) but for some reason I'm not looking forward to this. I guess it's the fact that it seems to ditch the film noir vibe of the first two.

That was my favorite thing about the first 2 games. Judging by the new poster in the OP, I guess we won't be getting anymore of that.

Yeah...I was thinking about that. I'm not getting that Noir vibe here. I also loved the HELL out of MP2.

I played the first and really liked it. Depending on reviews, I may get this.

How many times has this one been delayed?

Anyhow, great series, and I'll definitely be purchasing it.

It looks like Max has "lost it" with the whole new look. He looks like a combination of Bruce Willis from Die Hard 4 and Sam Fisher from Conviction

Re: Max Payne 3

For what it's worth, some screenshots have shown the Max Payne we all know and love. Maybe it'll be a metamorphosis into the fat Bruce Willis dude throughout the game.

If he gets to get it on with that girl on the cover then I'll get it but if not I'll wait until it hits the dump bin.

Given that was only a special ending on the hardest difficulty (I know cos I made sure to get that ending), they probably chose not to make it canon.

People always over-exaggerate how bad that was. You only spent like three minutes in the entire game doing that.

And why would the third game have it anyway? It was a plot element of the first game only.

Because it sucked.

Just because the second game didn't have it doesn't mean this one won't.

I'm not denying it was a bad idea, but people always act like it ruined the game because you spent half your time in the nightmare sequences. Unless you are a really bad player, the nightmares shouldn't take more than three minutes to complete.

The nightmares were a plot element of the original game with Max still dwelling on the death of his family. It didn't happen in the second game, and it won't be in the third game.

What are you talking about? The nightmare sequences were also in the second game. They just ditched the blood trails. I fully expect nightmare sequences in this game as well.

Oh, okay. You didn't mention them in your post so I didn't know you meant that aspect of the nightmares specifically.

It shows something when the blood trails were that bad that everyone remembers them. Yes, they sucked miserably.
