WWE Brawl (Coming 2012)
Earlier this year, WWE and THQ launched All Stars, a new wrestling title that featured cartoonishly oversized superstars with over-the-top moves. From the looks of the debut trailer for WWE Brawl, it should be taking things even further.
Gameplay starts around the 38 second mark in the video below, and it looks more like Smash Bros. than a wrestling game. Undertaker steals souls, John Cena makes his chain explode or something, and there's a bear for some reason.
No official announcement has come from THQ yet, but the video made its debut in a WWE corporate initiatives video. We'll update as soon as we hear more about this new title.

This looks like a $10 XBL Arcade game.

Weird. I don't see how it even has anything to do with wrestling other than way over exagerrated versions of the wrestlers.

I second that. Truth be told, I played a lot of WWF Arcade (even the shitty sequel: In Your House), but I needed my wrestling fix and I didn't know any better. Same reason I played any of the games using the Attitude engine (mortal kombat type key presses for a simple body slam wtf?) or WCW Nitro/Thunder. Real wrestling games, thank you!

I loved the simplicity of the Wrestlemania game. I had both that and In Your House on PC and enjoyed them a lot more then the complex games out now.

I also starting using MAME simply for Wrestlefest. The N64 THQ games are my favorite wrestling games overall but WrestleFest was the most colorful, best looking game IMO. It really felt like the fun of watching a WWF event around 1990. I thought All Stars would be similiar but it had 'too much' of everything instead.
WFest did tons of moves with what, two buttons? Compare that to the crappy NES WWF games of the same period ....

I also used Mame for a long time for both Wrestlefest and Superstars. I knew licensing would kick it in the butt but I hoped for XBLA's GameRoom or for it to be updated with current superstars and released as a Live title. Lots of good memories with those two.
Why is it, when I hear WWE Brawl, I think of WWF Crush Hour or WCW Backstage Assault? I am not expecting anything good to come out of this at all.
