Bummer that Amazon wont be on there. We are getting a streaming device soon and I was hoping to get the vita TV as I have a ton of games on psn for vita, psp and psone. I'll have a harder time convincing my wife that this is the better option over the roku without amazon prime.

I finished Danganrompa last night. It was terrific. If you like visual novels I enjoyed it more than Virtue's Last Reward.

The release is perfect timing for me. We move on the 18th; I'll be picking one of these up right away for PS4 remote play.

I'm going to assume I won't be able to take my Vita memory card and use it in the Playstation TV? Knowing Sony, I'll probably need to buy a proprietary memory card. I notice that their FAQ doesn't mention anything about what type of memory card you'll need.

The Vita TV uses Vita memory cards. They're interchangeable, thankfully.

Do all PS4 games support remote play through the Vita at this point? How are people's experiences with it so far?
I know I can play Destiny this way, but what about Diablo or any other game?
I'm mostly going to use the feature in bed or when someone is already using the tv. Just from elsewhere in the house, not over Wi-Fi from across the state or anything.

I've played Diablo on the Vita. It works very well, but unfortunately the writing is so small you can't see which items are there for you to pick up. Makes it pretty frustrating.

But you can still play all other PS4 games on the Vita? There's always an option, is that correct?

Anyone else thinking about picking up Freedom Wars? Because it looks kind of amazing :

Good news : It comes out next week, at retail for the low price of $29.99. ($23.99 with GCU including pre-order bonuses)
Bad news : It's so cheap that you can't use it to get the GCU subscription deal.

BB stocks Freedom Wars, I have it set for in-store pickup tomorrow. But I've seen several reviews which say the game is terrible...

Really? Will have to look. I did the BB pre-order as well. Could always cancel the order if need be. Think it looks cool though.
Edit : there's literally nothing on Metacritic yet. Where are these negative reviews you've seen?

The Vita has a new firmware update, I suppose to go with the PS4 update being pushed out today as well.
3.35 of the Vita firmware adds 4 player support for Remote Play via Playstation TV, as well as adding a video quality setting to remote play, to reflect your connection quality to the PS4.
In other words, not much for the Vita itself.

Feel like Sony defrauded you when you bought your Vita at launch? Not really? Want free shit anyway? Sure you do!!!
Sony to refund Vita customers in FTC settlement over false ads
by Jessica Conditt @JessConditt (3 hours ago)
Sony Computer Entertainment America has settled with the FTC over charges that it produced false and misleading advertisement during the Vita's launch campaign from late 2011 to early 2012. Sony will provide refunds to Vita customers who purchased the device before June 1, 2012 – either a $25 cash or credit refund, or a $50 voucher for select games and services. Sony will email eligible customers after the settlement is finalized.
The FTC alleges that some of Sony's claims about the Vita were misleading, including that the Vita "would revolutionize gaming mobility" by enabling remote play and cross-platform play with the PS3, allowing players to start a game on PS3 and finish it on Vita. Sony is barred from similar advertising practices in the future.
The FTC alleges the following: "Sony claimed, for example, that PS Vita users could pause any PS3 game at any time and continue to play the game on their PS Vita from where they left off. This feature, however, was only available for a few PS3 games, and the pause-and-save capability described in the ads varied significantly from game to game.... Sony's PS Vita ads falsely implied that consumers who owned the 3G version of the device (which cost an extra $50 plus monthly fees) could engage in live, multi-player gaming through a 3G network. In fact, consumers could not engage in live, multiplayer gaming.... In reality, most PS3 games were not remote playable on the PS Vita."
In a separate but related action, the FTC says that Sony's advertising agency, Deutsch LA, knew that the ads contained misleading information, and it exacerbated the misinformation by asking its own employees to hype the Vita on social media, without disclosing that they were connected to the agency or Sony. Deutsch LA is barred from similar conduct in the future.
"As we enter the year's biggest shopping period, companies need to be reminded that if they make product promises to consumers – as Sony did with the 'game changing' features of its PS Vita – they must deliver on those pledges," Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, says. "The FTC will not hesitate to act on behalf of consumers when companies or advertisers make false product claims."

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Yea, I remember being a little pissed that I couldn't play multiplayer over 3G when it first came out (really wanted to play Fifa with friends on the go). Don't know if I'll do anything if I get the email or not.
I recently just picked up another Vita after not having on for about a year. Finally got to play the Killzone game I got as I sold my last one and man what a great game. Wish they had a few more games like that for the system.
