I've played solo through every campaign of both L4D games multiple times and had a blast.

Most of mine have already been said. I'm not a FPS gamer, so Halo and Call of Duty do absolutely nothing for me. Also the same for any sports franchise, Madden especially.

I'm in the same boat. I like adventure/action games/horror games.

Prince of Persia - tried it, and fucking hated it. I don't like having to figure out where to jump or whatever

Splinter Cell - never got past the first level, hated that one little mistake and you are dead.

Racing games - it's the same thing over and over, just different window dressing

Sadly, my favorite genre is practically dead these days. Turn based strategy. Disciples 3 was a huge letdown, and Valkyria Chronicles is one of the few great releases in this gen.

There's your problem right there. As Groucho pointed out, the fun in this game comes from playing it with a group of other people.
I'm with you on Dead Rising, though.

I hated PoP, too. So frustrating.

I was thinking the same thing.

Definitely Halo.

Not sure why, but I'm surprised at racing games getting no love.

Re: Major gaming franchises you have no interest in?

Racing and sports are probably the two genres that I don't have much interest in.

Specifically racing games where you just race. If it is something like Burnout or a racing/battle game (cars with guns and such) then I will play it for the combat aspect. Just a racing game where you tune cars and try to perfect times though doesn't interest me. I have never played any GT games because of that.

Sports games are things that I want to be interested in but just don't hook me. Basically once each generation I will buy an NCAA football game because I remember playing the old Tecmo Bowl and having fun. I like some college football and I like games - it seems like combining the two would work. Then the game gets like an hour of play each time. I never hate it and never have any real complaints about the games. It just clearly doesn't hold my interest. Because of that I have never even tried a single hockey game (since Blades of Steel) or soccer game ever. Heck, even Virtua Tennis didn't hold my interest.

While I suppose I haven't played everything out there in the genre, I dearly wish there was more to choose from. I just got Valkyria Chronicles the other day, so I'm about to start playing that. While I enjoy RTS (Starcraft), I long for more games in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Anyways, I don't find much interest sports games. I'm just not a sports fan in real life, so playing a football videogame isn't my thing. Although they can still be enjoyable.

Pokemon is probably the biggest videogame IP that I've never even touched.

Re: Major gaming franchises you have no interest in?

Final Fantasy
Metal Gear
Tomb Raider
Warcraft
Assassin's Creed
Civilization

Those are the major ones. I've played games from all those franchises at one time or another and just couldn't get into them.

This isn't a franchise I guess but I've always hated Tetris and those type games. I never understood why they were so popular other than to give soccer mom's their first introduction into videogames.

Tetris is what made the original Game Boy a success, played mostly by kids.

Halo - I'll never understand how such a mediocre shooter is so popular.

No, I guess I meant other knock off type Tetris style games. I know I wasn't a fan of Dr. Mario either. I didn't mean puzzle games in general.

I agree. I don't really like Halo much (I did enjoy the first game, but that was more than enough), but to call it mediocre seems like a massive stretch to me.

I don't really care for Fallout or Oblivion. Never really cared for that sort of gameplay.
