That's not really true at all.

Re: Next-gen appears to be closer than some people thought

I have bought and owned every major gaming system since the NES but that streak ends on this generation. I'm still a big gamer but i've come to the point I don't need to own every system on the market.

Out of the three current systems, I play them the most in this order. 1. 360. 2. PS3. 3. Wii. I will most likely pick up the new MS console down the road when it's released one day. But the days of having to own the newest system on release day is over for me.

It's always awesome to have a random stranger trivialize the work I do.

Same here. I'm fairly certain the Wii will be my last Nintendo system and I'm definitely not falling into the next Playstation system hype. I bought the PS3 on day one for $600 and it's mostly been used as a blu ray player. I would be up for buying the next MS system at launch and picking up the PS system a couple years later after a couple price drops.

Re: OctoCamo appears to be closer than some people thought

I think I'm in the same boat with Nintendo. I've been at every launch since the SNES, but I think I'll be waiting on a price drop for their next system.

The PS3 is my first Playstation and probably my last. Nothing against it, but outside of a few games it just hasn't been for me. The Dual Shock is by far my biggest problem with the system, followed by an inferior online experience. Actually I'd be surprised if they don't charge for MP next time out. I'm sure they are kicking themselves seeing how much MS rakes in on Live subscriptions. Mostly though, it's a peer thing as well. I have a half dozen friends, all of whom are firmly in the MS camp.

Unless MS royally fucks up, ala Sony and the PS3, it's the only console I'll be there on day one.

The PS3 is a great multimedia device. I played some games when I first got it, but the last couple of years it has been two or three games played each year. You know the big ones and exclusive, Uncharted, KillZone, stuff like that.

But I use it several days a week because of the multimedia capabilities, that in my case are better than the Xbox 360. PMS + PS3 = the best video player.

All I know is if we don't get new systems by year end then this year is a failure and Christmas is ruined.

This is one of those threads no?
