Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I only cared to use the guns when needed for something or an achievement. Didn't care for the guns at all since Lara was just that much cooler with a bow.

Yeah, I grew up on a heavily populated tropical island and I never, even once, stumbled upon a quiver of arrows lying around. Here, they're everywhere!

You're complaining about THAT, in a videogame where you can warp between camps and a tiny female lead character takes punishment that would kill a linebacker?

I am playing this now on PS4 and it is a really fun game with great graphics. However, here are a few of my complaints.
1. I don't really like the Quick Time sequences as they take me out of the game itself.
2. There is far too much combat and not enough exploration in relation to older Tomb Raider games.
3. I don't really like the "funneling" the game does for you. They push you from one set to the next and most of the time close off the direction in which you came from. That makes is more action that adventure.
For the next game I hope they go back to an exotic location and focus more on exploration and eliminate these multi-kill segments with enemy after enemy. How in the hell or why would anyone want to live on this island in the first place? I would love to see some sort of remade version of Tomb Raider 2 as I felt that it had some really cool locations and gameplay.

Had a really weird thing happen last night while playing this on PS3. During the game when Lara
my speakers gave off some tremendously loud pops and cracks in the midst of all that lightning and crashing and fire. Even when I turned down the system the cracks were still pretty loud. Then the game kept going and the sound was over as soon as that part was over.
What's the deal? Is that the game or my speakers?

Just finished the game and loved the reboot. I actually like it better than the originals. I wonder my there is no option to restart the game from end game save. It would be fun to replay with my upgraded skill set, etc.

Well, they do respawn in a few areas but not every time that you go to those areas. The areas that I have seen enemies after the game are: Shipwreck Island and Shanty Town. I had to find some to finish a few achievements. It really pisses me off that there is the Chatterbox achievement that is missable and will require me to play through the story again just to get it. I need it and two other trophies, that I can get now, before I have to do the MP trophies for the platinum.

So I ran into a weird experience with Amazon yesterday. I bought Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (with the art book packaging), it was new and sold by Amazon. Got it in the mail yesterday and it had a sticker over the UPC, but under the cellophane. I thought that was odd so I opened it and noticed it was also missing all of the inserts inside. I watched a You Tube unboxing, and it looks like there was some sort of code for something in there. Does anyone know what that was for? Also, anyone else find this a little odd? A new game that was obviously previously opened and sold by Amazon?

sounds like it was part of a bundle of some sort, and they pulled just the game out. The UPC being blocked means its not for individual sale, and you will have a tough time trading in it. I know amazon wouldn't take it.

It's just a sticker over the UPC. Under the sticker is the original UPC. That's what initially threw me off. It's almost like the stickers that they put on their Warehouse Deal items, but not the same one.

Just opened my copy to check and there are 2 inserts. One with the dumb health and safety warnings and the other one is a Square Enix registration card, which is the one you are referring to with the code.

Those types are rather pointless. They just want to market shit to you.
Reminded me of of that shit that WB made you do with Arkham Origins. I think it mattered for the multiplayer at most but still... Unneeded.

Thanks guys. Now knowing that the code wasn't for anything game related, they offered a $10 partial refund, so I took it. I like the art book, so I'm going to keep the game.

If anyone on here wants to do some online boosting on the PS4 then let me know. I have done zero multiplayer for this one but would be down if a few of you guys on here are willing. There are a lot of achievements you can earn in private matches.

I'm up for that, haven't played any multiplayer yet. I'm almost finished with the single player campaign.

I finished this last night for PS4. I enjoyed it very much. I liked the traversal elements better than the fights. I was annoyed with how many bullets enemies could absorb before they died. I don't mind violence in games, but the brutality seemed a little over the top.

Yeah that seems to be the universal pan point for this game: Tomb Raider is not a shooter.
