Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Wow, there's a lot of courses in this game. Though they all look sorta samey, the branching paths in each course keeps them interesting.

The world tour in general is pretty tough, especially considering that it's billed as "Tutorial" for the Explore Mode.

If you think the World Tour is tough, you might get upset at the rest of the game. There's a shit ton of courses in explore mode that are WAY harder than anything in the tour. "One Step Ahead" in the Alps is an absolute nightmare. As a friendly warning, don't waste your credits on unlocking it unless you enjoy tantrum inducing controller smashing suckiness.

The Thin Air decent can suck my balls. I'd rather get tossed around on rocks or avoid trees than have to spam a button to take hits of oxygen.

Announcing Classic SSX DLC
After a week of teasing the community by slowly releasing puzzle pieces of a screenshot jam packed full of classic SSX elements, we revealed on Friday that we would be bringing some of that classic, retro fun from previous SSX titles to the newest SSX release with our upcoming DLC.

Today we’re proud to announce that on 05.01.2012 we’ll be releasing the SSX Mt. Eddie & Classic Characters Bundle Pack. Mt. Eddie is a TRICKY inspired, ultra-long mountain that features 9 new Race and Trick drops, and is filled with huge kickers, ridiculous grinds, a Big Air drop, fireworks, and a whole lot more – the classic SSX experience! This DLC bundle pack also comes with 7 retro SSX characters from SSX 3 and Tricky, each with a unique snowboard. And as if that weren’t enough, this pack also includes 3 classic music tracks.

You can even get these elements separately in the SSX Mt. Eddie Pack or the SSX Classic Characters Pack. Leading up to the May 1st launch we’ll be showing off what exactly we’re releasing with character images, gameplay videos and a live Q&A with the development team talking about the new DLC.

Stay tuned to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/easportsssx for the latest news, and read on to see details on the pack breakdowns.

See you on the slopes!

Team SSX

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Hopefully the DLC will be easier.

Seriously, am I the only that finds most of this game absurdly tough. Just to make sure, I put in Tricky and I did fine, so I don't know what's going on.

Also, how useless that rewind feature? I mean, your competition doesn't rewind - they keep right on going, and if you need to beat them, what's the point?

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

I only had trouble with the last three deadly descents. The basic racing and trick runs were pretty easy IMO.

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

That DLC is sweet. The game gets cheaper just as the content I want comes out. I love it when a plan comes together!

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Was playing the game some last night after finally finishing Mass Effect. The online portion is really well implemented. Sadly, there community is already dead. It appeared only a couple hundred people were participating in the online events.

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

In what I fear is "too little, too late" the latest SSX patch allows for Simultaneous multiplayer:

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Better late than never. And say what you will, but at least EA, the kings of microtransactions, are not charging extra for the multiplayer update. Unlike certain recent games.

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

I used to play this all the time back when it came out. Love this game. But haven't touch it in a long time. Now that winter is upon us. Decided to dust off the game off a bit.

Notice the downloadable Mount Eddie mountains. Has anyone tried it? Worth getting?
I really hope they make a sequel for either Ps4 or Xbox One.

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Loved this game. SSX was a launch day buy for me on PS2 and ended up being one of my favorite games of the generation. I really hope they keep the series alive. The soundtrack in DD was awesome.

SSX Tricky is still in my top 10 games of all time. This series better not be dead dammit!

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

If EA was smart they'd revamp the series as a Live offering for $15 and make it fun again. Fuuu realism.

Re: SSX: Deadly Decents

Yeah, because wearing scanning goggles while doing massive flips over enormous chasms was realistic.

But yeah - this game was fun. Might have to play some tonight.
