So many great games this year....

I can't make a top 5 anticipated because they keep changing but here we go any way...

5: Uncharted 3

4: Gears of War 3

3: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

2: Skyrim

1: Mass Effect 3

You'll be in Australia by then. The question of getting the game may be a tougher one to answer. Australians are routinely screwed when it comes to videogames.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I think I might be the only one not blowing my load over the trailer. It looks great, sure, but I didn't see anything that really amazed me. Maybe I'm still holding a grudge over the game-breaking bug I hit in Oblivion.

Based on my experiences with past Bethesda games, I'll get Skyrim a few months after it comes out, once they patch all of the game-breaking bugs. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

That video looks incredible. All the dragon stuff will be a blast.

I do hope as a small joke/throwback to Oblivion that somewhere they have a store that sells horse armor for some ridiculous amount of in-game currency. Or it comes as a free pre-order bonus.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

For some reason...and it might be Fallout/Oblivion fatigue.... I find my excitement for Skyrim fading..I am sure it will be amazing and that I will love the shit out of it....but right now videos do not wow me the way Saints Row The Third does....

I suspect I'll be a fan of this series since Fallout is my favorite gaming franchise of all time? Never played an Elder Scrolls game

Depends on what you like about Fallout, and how you felt about Fallout 3 compared to the rest of the series.

No shooting and no vats...but if you love Fallout because of the large world....mission structure....and overall style then it is safe to say that you will like Skyrim...

Don't be surprised though if the lack of guns/different setting makes a huge difference...for many, Red Dead Redemption's setting alone helped them love the game over GTA4....though both are well written and in theory structured the same...

If the fantasy world does not wow you, it might be difficult for you to be hooked like you might be with Fallout...

I for one love both types of games...

Is there no CE version of this game coming out? It's the only series I'd be willing to shell out extra $ for.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I just spent another 90+ hours of my life on a third playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas, so I'm both excited and trepidacious about this game.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Fallout 3 is my favorite game, and no it wouldn't bother me that there's no guns/V.A.T.S. I like Action RPGs in general (the KOTOR games are among my favorites as well)

I ordered a copy of Oblivion Game of the Year edition just now.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I prefer Elder Scrolls to Fallout. I was never a fan of VATS and the environments weren't as varied as in Elder Scrolls. I understand that's due to the subject matter, but when you're spending over a hundred hours with a game stuff like that matters.

Not only did I prefer Morrowind and Oblivion to Fallout 3 - I actively disliked F3.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I enjoyed F3 enough to play through it but I haven't picked up Vegas yet. Morrowind in particular changed the way I looked at gaming.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

My roommate's favorite game is Fallout 3, and I watched him play most of it and New Vegas. I'll tell ya, that game is way better when someone else is playing it. He can watch me play Skyrim.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Looks good but I hope there is music in the final game since there isn't in these clips. The music of Oblivion was just one of the many parts of that game that I loved.

I thought I would like Fallout 3 and New Vegas more but Oblivion to me is the superior game. So much more to do and more varied. For a 5 year old game it continues to impress me. I remember when I first played it when it was new and was totally blown away.
