VG Collections

Post a pic and how many games you have:

Total current number: 550

This is the biggest collection I've seen on youtube (jump to 30 second mark to skip intro):

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kFwEft8cMbQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kFwEft8cMbQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Where does he sleep?

Re: VG Collections

I have maybe 50. I used to hang on to games I thought I might play at some point in the future. Then I realized I am never going to play many of the games on older systems as there are just so many good games I haven't played on the 360 and I am hooked on Indie games and XBLA games, so I never really want to hook up the PS2 or gamecube.

Re: VG Collections

All my vintage stuff is in storage now, and as a result of realizing that I don't need any of it I've been slowly selling it all off. Loved having a collection, but there's just no sense in it anymore.

Re: VG Collections

I have totally fallen out of love with building a bookshelf with a collection (be it games, dvds, graphic novels, books, whatever), but I LOVE looking at the stuff other people have.

With that, I only have 3 games in my house right now. I think a picture would be a little less than impressive. But I look forward to seeing what other folks post.

Re: VG Collections

Wow, you need to learn how to use a camera.

I only have about 15 games on 360, so it's not really worth a pic of the "collection"

Re: VG Collections

Do you really play on that crappy old CRT? It's time for an upgrade dude... HDTV's aren't expensive, especially if you get one with a similar screen size as the one you have.

Re: VG Collections

I'm afraid to count. I have systems and games from Sega Master/Nintendo 8-bit all the way up to now with 360/Wii. (And just about everything inbetween). Maybe I'll get to pictures on a bored weekend or something.

(systems owned: Sega Master, Nintendo, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Turbo Duo, 3do, Sega Saturn, PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, and a GBA, if I had to guess # of games, I'd say probably close to 1000).

Re: VG Collections

Four years ago I had 9 systems hooked up at once and about 300 games or so. I sold everything except the 360, Wii, and PS3 on craigslist/ebay. After downloading 4 games on the VC I had to have, I only have 17 games (which all are COD, Mario, or Harmonix except for TS4 and YDKJ).

I did not play the games/systems enough and though it was somewhat painful initially, it was the best decision.

Yeah I tried to hook a ps2 up to my 37" lcd and it looked freaking terrible. Need a crt for those older systems.

Re: VG Collections

I still have my N64, original xbox, PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast systems all connected to my backup 720p projector. My generations older consoles are long gone though I still have some PS1 games laying around. I probably have around 200 games total. I trade many games in if I'm sure I'll never play them again.

My Ps2 I have no trouble hooking it up to my 42" plasma and looking great. Now PS1 or older, sure. But as long as I have it hooked up with good cables, I didn't experience any issues. Same with the old Xbox. I have an old 27" crt for PS1 stuff and back, but the PS2 should be okay on a hidef tv.

Re: VG Collections

I'm at just shy off 200 titles right now. Gametz.com has been a great help in shaving down my collection. My personal goal is to have it down to about fifty must own titles. Long past is the time when I want to hold onto everything, even the mediocre stuff.

Re: VG Collections

I've got a decent chunk of games, but I'm not in any hurry to get rid of 'em. I just know I'll have a hankering to play some of 'em again, whether it be nostalgia or what have you.

Re: VG Collections

I put most of my stuff in storage so I'd have room at home.

I have most of the systems since the 16 bit days and have mutiples of them plus games. I stopped counting about 3 years ago.

This. God of war 2 looks great on a big tv with surround sound blasting.
