$15 for all of it...I think I might have to go with that. The rest of the GOD's look appetizing but somewhere out there are discs for all of them (or I already have the disc). I still have about 2600 points too, so this seems like a good purchase for what's included. (Still wish they would have done a disc release though)

You don't want games like these on a disc; they're better as impulse plays. I have some XBLA compilation discs and I never bother to put them in.

The complete Arcade Cabinet set includes 17 arcade games. For $15, I might just go ahead and buy it. There's not a ton of nostalgia there for me (wasn't a big shoot-em-up guy in the arcade days), but that seems like a lot of value and I might as well spend those points before they expire, right?

Re: The official Xbox Live Arcade/Indie Games/Game Room Thread of Space Bucks for Fun

i'm thinking Azura's Wrath (with the dlc - apparently pack IV is the "real" ending to the game?) as well as the capcom stuff. i got the capcom collection disc recently too (http://www.amazon.com/Capcom-Digital...ction+xbox+360) but it doesn't look like a lot of repeats. i have almost 9000 points to use, so this is a good value here i'd think....

Yeah, that disc is a compilation of XBLA originals and HD remakes, this is a collection of 1980's arcade ports, so there's no overlap really.

You have mentioned this a couple of times now. The first time I dismissed it because I just thought it was an ongoing joke. Everything I have read have indicated that left over points will be converted into the money format when they switch over. So say I have 800 points left, well now I have 10 bucks. I have seen nothing that says they will be null and void. I hesitate to even say that borders on illegality if the system is staying up. Now if Xbox Live is being turned off tomorrow, then that would be different but I have seen nothing to that case.

Or else, I might as well buy the Capcom Arcade stuff, the D&D Mystara two-fer and call it a day on future purchases. (I have 2600 points roughly so that would be 2400).

Left over points will be converted their currency equivalent, but will then expire on June 1, 2015. If you redeem a point card after the transition, it'll be converted to currency and will expire 1 year after redemption.

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billin...nts-retire-faq
When you initiate a purchase or redeem a Points card or code with your Microsoft account after the next Xbox 360 system update, we’ll add to your account an amount of currency equal to or greater than the Marketplace value of your Microsoft Points, and your Microsoft Points will be retired. The currency we add to your account at the time of the transition will expire on June 1, 2015.

...Microsoft Points cards and codes that you purchased and redeem after the transition will expire one year from the date the Points are redeemed.
So that 800 points will convert to $10 and will stay on your account until June 1, 2015. If you haven't used it by then, it's gone.

Okay, I fully understand now. It just sounded at first like it was ending in August and I was LIKE WTF? Okay, that I get...and that makes sense in order to get point cards out of circulation. Thanks for the response, so much clearer.

Doesn't make sense at all. It's a gift card. Gift cards shouldn't expire.

But the news to me is 2015. I had heard that any points in your account will be converted to local currency soon and that balance would expire in one year from conversion. Looks like they've extended it out a ways, which is better. But it's still stupid to make it expire at all.

Four of us got and played the coop part of Lost Planet 2. I had a good time with it coop wise, never did the MP part. I think there are like four factions to choose from and as you progress you get better stuff. The characters themselve are ok but not really detailed. The action is good especially when you go aginst the large "monster' types. A good selection of different environments from the desert, water, jungle, steel mills, volcano to ice. Here's the Gamespot review but the user reviews are more accurate.

Lost Planet was a cool single player action game in the snow. Had what I like to refer to as "Japanese game rankings" at the end of each stage..."S" Ranking etc. Nothing crazy or anything, but decent overall.

Lost Planet 2 looked neat in the trailers, then was a huge pile of shit when it came out. Nothing like part 1 at all, hence the 4-5/10 ratings. Myself and all my Xbox friends immediately returned our copies the first night. I would stay far, far away.

So the Asura's Wrath DLC is a little confusing. There are lost episodes 1 & 2, episodes 11.5 & 15.5, and an episode pack part 4. Is this all different stuff or what?

It's all different stuff.

Episodes 11.5 & 15.5 are "midquels" that take place in between existing episodes in the game.

Episode Pack: Part IV is a DLC that adds 4 new episodes, 19-22, to the end of the previously 3-part game.

The Lost Episodes apparently don't fit into the timeline anywhere, and are basically excuses to pit Asura against Street Fighter characters Ryu and Akuma.

Episode Pack: Part IV looks practically essential to the game, as it resolves the cliffhanger that episode 18 ends on, and is apparently high quality. The other DLC looks more optional:

So that 800 points will convert to $10 and will stay on your account until June 1, 2015. If you haven't used it by then, it's gone.
So how long do we have before our unused point cards / codes expire?

From the FAQ I linked to:
Microsoft Points Cards you purchase at retail will continue to be redeemable on your console and Xbox.com until further notice. Microsoft has no plans to discontinue acceptance of previously purchased Points cards and codes.
So point cards and codes aren't set to expire, but once you redeem them, the points will expire after a year.
