Re: NBA 2K11 - Now with Michael Jordan - October 5, 2010
Well got the game and have played for a few hours. Overall feels more polished than last years version.
From the very start of the game its a MJ lovefest. I tried a few of the diffferent Bulls teams and its cool the differences between older and stronger MJ who hits jumpers n fadeaways vs young MJ who blows by anyone. They definitely nailed him as it feels like him. Also, other classic teams like knicks, sonics, cavs, pistons are there which is cool.

I can't wait to review this, all of the positive feedback I'm hearing is actually making me excited (which is odd considering I haven't played a bball game since 2k5)...just waiting for the day when my webmaster actually says it is in. The 5th can't get here soon enough.

The last basketball game I bought was a 2K college game for the PS2. I don't even know what year that was. I don't need any more games right now... between NHL11 and Red Dead DLC and Civ V (which I still haven't played. arrgh) and RB3 just around the corner, my slate's packed. But I really want to get in on this game and it's taking a ton of willpower to refrain from the pre-order. Maybe if someone had a killer deal I'd crack, but until then I'm holding firm. I hope... I just have to remind myself it's just going to sit there unopened until NHL runs its course.

Re: NBA 2K11 - Now with Michael Jordan - October 5, 2010
Unfortunately, I wish I could let NBA 2k11 sit until say the playoffs or something. Put that on top of my site's 31 days of horror and I'm leaning towards doing Bioshock 1,2 reviews (I've never played them but yet own them both) and a preview of Infinite for that month and I'm going to be quite overloaded. This is on top of the fact that I wanted to preorder Fable III and RB3. (obviously even if I preorder those, those will probably sit for a little bit).

Count me among those with a big backlog of games. I have Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 and have barely played them.

It's an NBA game. NBA games IMO have so much replay value. I'm a huge NBA fan and I would never let this kind of game, especially with all the cool Jordan modes just sit on the shelf.
But, if you really feel like it would be a waste of money for you because you just can't devote the time to it, then that's understandable.

I always thought sports games are easier to have around because you can play a single game whenever without it being too much of an investment.

New video with announcer commentary, sideline reporting, graphics and arena specific audio.

Loved seeing Dominique Wilkins dunk in the old school Hawks uniform.

Wow, the game looks terrific. I may pick it up after football season, I am really into NCAA Football 11 right now.

Something I have been wondering, what are the yellow cell phone reception bars for that show up by the players feet?

Okay, that clip just sold me on 2K11. It looks REALLY good. No wonder EA Sports raised the white flag. Free NBA Jam or not, they can't compete with that. Damn. Didn't want to have to buy another game, but that looks like a must-purchase.
Didn't like that 23-13 halftime score in the Heat-Lakers game. Hope that's not an ominous sign of things to come. Also hope against hope that somehow they licensed "I Love L.A." for after Laker victories.

Wow, the isometric pulled back view of the game is excellent. It looks like the real deal.

Okay, I just pre-ordered the game through Amazon. Haven't bought a basketball game since NBA 07, this one looks like a keeper.

I'll probably pick this up in the winter because it looks amazing. Like Osiris, by game backlog is embarassing right now... however, if I had an awesome NBA season to look forward to I'd be more inclined to get it now. As it stands, I'm a Pistons fan (so they suck and we hate Jordan by de facto).

How can you claim authentic arena experiences and then in the video show the Cavs playing a home game in front of a full house?

Will one be able to emulate the cheap push-off with Jordan v. Jazz? I mean, they are going for authenticity, right?

Re: NBA 2K11 - Now with Michael Jordan - October 5, 2010
Now that I think about authenticity, since the product is focused on Jordan, for it to be truly authentic, they would have needed to get Ray Clay to be the PA announcer for the starting lineup at Bulls home games along with the theme music. But, that obviously isn't happening here since Clay fired by the team over a decade ago.
