After playing for about an hour last night, I can safely say that the game is simply a blast to play. Great gameplay, huge set pieces, not quit as bad of a story as I anticipated, and it's just fun. Even the voice acting hasn't bothered me yet

Yep..after the "Train" where you run down and fall thru the floor, the moment you go around the corner you see that glowing statue head, whip it. A screen pops up and tells you about it and just says for now it's re-filling all your ammo.

ahh...i guess i didn't see that text. got the statue and thought it was unlocked during the full game and not the demo. thanks.

I downloaded the demo and then caved and pre-ordered it from Amazon. It is too good of a deal with the 20 dollar credit.

I played the demo for about twenty minutes. Sometimes a big, loud, stupid, booming, over the top game that doesn't take itself too seriously is just what hits the spot. I just wish it had offline campaign co-op, Borderlands was a hit at my house. Although this one might not be, my wife watched the demo for a few minutes and was not enthralled.
Two complaints so far - I missed the 57.99 price, and I am quite sick of the word "epic" . [Note: as an adjective, I don't mind the company being named Epic. Pretty sure Epic Megagames made some of my favorite PC games].
I'm sure I'll enjoy it much more than Gears of War which I found entirely meh [blasphemy].

I bought it through Amazon with the $20 credit and $.99 day of release shipping.
The demo was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see the other weapons and levels

You folks have more faith than I do. A great demo doesn't guarantee a great game, or one that delivers $60 worth of content (Exhibit A : Enslaved). I liked the demo, but I want some reviews to read first. I'll pick it up at Kmart for about the same deal (+ tax) if it's well-received.

I am starting to second guess my purchase. I wish this game had something better than another "horde" mode for coop...it would be an easy purchase...but I got it so cheap at amazon, and I am getting another gift card so I guess I am ok...but 7-8 hours...the way I play that will probably be 6 hours for me...ugh..

This is what someone on CAG who calls himself "McNutsack" (so take his opinion with a grain of salt) said about the game:
I'm kind of concerned this game might be more of a rental. $40 net cost isn't terrible for a really good short game with huge replayablility, but it's not exactly chump change either. And I guess the Gears 3 Beta isn't such a big deal after all.
I went ahead and canceled my preorder for Bulletstorm.
I just beat the full game...In 4 hours.
I cannot express how disappointed I am in the game. The only thing making me keep my preorder was the rumors of Multiplayer DLC, and I assumed it was the only way to get into the GOW3 beta...But it's only SEVEN days early to the beta. The beta will be public for all on the marketplace 7 days after Bulletstorm.
I dunno, it's basically $35 since you're getting the $20 promo, but I still can't work up the nerves to keep my preorder, even though I make $35 in 2 hours at work =/
I suggest you only go for this if you're certain its the game for you; if the whole arcade, leaderboard gimmick tickles your fancy. I've never been a fan of repeating things to beat highscores, so...

4 hours...I hope he is making that up, because replay value aside, I want more than 4 hours of fun for my game purchase. This smells of ODST...short single player, and a HORDE mode...but at least that game gave you co-op in the campaign and gave all those mp maps for Halo 3...

I'm definitely on about hour 6 or so and not even done...on normal difficulty. I also have only done 5 out of the 14 echoes, and played about an hour online last night with a friend.
