Don't open up old wounds! I've tried to leave that in the past.

I actually got better later in the night, or more likely, my opponents got worse. I now have won six ranked matches and lost five. I've been using Wolverine/X23/Dante.

At people on Ebay paying $20-25+ for the DLC Codes for Jill and Shuma Gorath.

Capcom already stated that everyone will be getting the characters at the same time (regardless if you did or didn't buy the CE) and that they will only be $5 a pop.

$5 per character? I wonder how many more characters are planned for dlc, and if this price structure will hold? This game could end up costing the die hards some serious cash when it's all said and done.

True. I'll be buying all the characters. The costumes for MVC3 I could really care less about.

On the positive side, the DLC Characters cost a little less than what Aksys was charging for Blazblue. I think their characters were around the $6.99-7.99 price point.

I'll pass on Jill and Shuma Gorath. Give me Punisher, Blade, or Phoenix Wright.

For the folks that picked this up at Kmart, did you get your bonus points yet? I'm still missing mine and it sounds like many others are as well. I tired calling CS and they didn't really seem to know what I was talking about.

Did you try asking Josh over in CAG? He's the guy who puts together the deals for Kmart and he's very active in the thread (or at least he was, I haven't been to Kmart since they started using points).

DLC Characters are up now for 360:

Jill Valentine - 400 points

Shuma-Gorath - 400 points

I tried to use my CE code this morning -- what a mess. You have to go to their site and make your own user name there for some reason. The site is crawling and full of errors. Must be getting hammered by folks with this code I guess. Didn't want to risk missing my chance with the code when the site is so messed up, so I'll try logging in again tonight.

I ended up e mailing Josh and he is going to send out a gift card. I hope I get it soon because I didn't want to open the game without the $25 credit.

So weird that they made the redemption code for 360 owners so much more annoying.

My PS3 CE had a code on the comic. I redeemed it in the PSN Store and that was it.

I still have 800 points left from the last points card I bought, I'll have to pick up the characters for my Xbox copy as well.

I know. It's extra annoying because it actually says that on the website.
NOTE: This page is for Xbox 360 users ONLY. For PS3 users: you do not have to use Capcom Unity to redeem a PSN code. Your PSN code is already printed on the back of the art-book.

Please follow the steps below to redeem your DLC characters.

1. Log into Capcom-Unity: Capcom-Unity membership is REQUIRED to redeem your DLC characters. Please register or log in now.

So I just noticed this on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Marve...f=pd_rhf_p_t_2

Kinda sucks since I haven't even opened my special edition yet. Not even a year later and Capcom is releasing a new edition with more characters and new modes that you can't even use with the current release. Is this the new trend for Capcom and their fighting games? Don't they have like four versions of Street Fighter 4 out as well?

This is not a new trend for Capcom and their fighting games. They have been doing this with Street Fighter and associated games for what, two decades now? I feel your pain, but I almost come to expect it now. It is just a matter where on the gravy train the player wants to get on.

I thought surely they wouldn't make another SF4 when I bought Super Street Fighter IV...and then boom arcade version. WTF..... I really want to play MvsC3...but I don't even know to trust the Ultimate one. Seriously, what is to stop them from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Real One coming out 6 months later.

How is this any different than the dvd and blu ray upgrades we get from some movies? Just look at how many times the evil dead movies has been re-released with one or two extras.

Damn, well I guess I eat crow on being bold about there not being multiple MvC releases in the past

I don't think Street Fighter 4 has been that bad, Super added a ton of new characters and Arcade Edition is available as DLC.

The difference is that those dvds are stand alone, while these capcom releases fracture the online communities for these games -- which is the biggest draw for continued play. That said, these releases don't bother me. The later games have been cheaper so far, and they do a lot in allowing Capcom to rebalance things which is crucial for a fighter's survival. I doubt we'll see Capcom take things to the extremes like they did in the arcade days.

This x 1,000. It's nothing new and Capcom has been doing it with a lot of their franchises. Resident Evil anyone?

Also in regards of the Street Fighter Series:

-Street Fighter II
-Street Fighter II: Championship Edition
-Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
-Super Street Fighter II
-Super Street Fighter II Turbo
-Street Fighter III
-Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
-Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

These were also released like this on their respective Consoles at the time (SNES/Genesis/Saturn/DC).

As a Competitive/Tournament player, I'm looking forward to the possible balances and changes to the overall system/engine. Also all the new characters (having to pay for all the characters if they were DLC, would get quite pricey)

I'm not too familiar with them, but doesn't that happen with a lot of the popular shooters that continuously get new versions/sequels? Ala Call of Duty series/Halo/Gears of War?

I don't need this. But MAYBE.. if it was cheap enough but I'm not into these types of porting kind of things too often.

UMvC3 is getting a GameStop-exclusive physical release on the PS4 and Xbox One as well. GameStop's site lists a 3/31 release date.

Does this have anything that the PS3 version doesn't? I still have my copy that I never even opened.

It's in 1080p and will run at 60FPS. Which does sound sexy for the tech nerd aspect of myself but I've also played the fuck out of that game too. I might get it if it was to whatever price I may think it might be worth.
