Really, super ambivalent about this.
Way too expensive for me for a tech I'm not thrilled about in the first place. No "must have" launch titles on that list.
I can wait this out.

I'm intrigued to try the Resident Evil 3DS game after reading this: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/201...s_impressions/

Nintendo's new 3DS hand-held games console price point could harm the eyesight of parents with kids under six, the company has warned

Preordered the blue one at Amazon, figure I have enough time before launch in case this thing becomes a rare Nintendo flop. However, the rumored $50 price for games worries me more than the console price...

I'm curious as to how much memory the carts will have. With mgs 3 being ported those cutscenes were total 3-4 hours long.

I've also pre-ordered one. I have a DSi and a PSP I never use, so I'll trade both of those in. I cannot fathom that the games will be $50. That would be suicide for a handheld. If that's true, I won't be buying one.

It's too expensive for me, and I haven't touched my DS in a year. I'm interested, but i'll wait for a lower price and better games.

I was ready, prior to that price point to get one as close to launch as possible. I'm definitely on the wait and see list now.

There's always something to play on my DS, but I'm a huge JRPG fan, and the DS is a haven for those...

I pre-ordered one at Amazon, as a placeholder. I'd like to see what places like Best Buy are offering on launch - not that I expect a lower price, but maybe some kind of package deal where you get a free case or something, or double rewardszone points, or $10 off a launch game - whatever. $250 is more than I thought it would be, but I haven't upgraded since the DS-Lite, and I play the DS games enough to warrant an upgrade.
What this price kills for me is the chances of me buying my sons one anytime soon (they are both under 10). I was (relatively) OK with buying them a DS-Lite for around $100, knowing that they is a semi-decent chance I'd have to replace it within a year or two because they've dropped it too many times, or the buttons are stuck because they played it while eating candy, or the screen is scratched because they lost their stylus and have been playing for the last week using their fingernails. But f--k if I'm gonna drop $500 for the two of them on this. I'd have to start a policy of "sure you can play your 3DS, but only if I hold it for you"

I was ready to update my DS Lite but not for $250. I have to wait and see on this one especially if they keep the prices of the games to $40-50 dollars.

Really not sure of what to think about this one. I'm somewhat interested in it for new games, but 3D seems like a fad to me. In addition, it's far too expensive and I rarely ever played my DSi anyways.
Not to mention how annoying Nintndo is with constant re-designs of handhelds (in what feels like) every six month period.
I have bad OCD, so I never want to take my handhelds anywhere with me, thus cutting down the amount of time I'd play them. Usually, when I'm at home, I just play consoles. But I don't like the idea of missing out on potentially great exclusives.

I thought it was 3 hour battery life with two hours to achieve full charge? Or something like that.

I wouldn't buy multiple ones for the kids anyway... might as well just wait for the revision and get a second one and pass this one along (they can have the old DS in the meantime). Now to see if Sony can get their act together with the rumored PSP2 and garner some competition in the handheld marketplace (as I still don't see the iphone or mobile phones as a direct competitor).
