Say what you will about the gaming industry in 2009. Yeah, it was a little rough, with consumers tightening their belts and only a few megahits. However, we did see price drops for all the major consoles, a gazillion new iPhone games, and a smattering of amazing titles, some of which we're still playing.
But forget about the past, it's time to look ahead and search out the most anticipated games of next year. Our list nearly doubles 2009's, so there is a lot to get excited about.
While most of the titles on our list are scheduled for a 2010 release (and yes, several were supposed to come out in 2009), needless to say some release dates are more iffy than others. Check out our slideshow to see if your picks match up with ours.
I have to say the one I'm most looking forward to didn't make the list, AvP

Only day-1 must buys for me on that list are Bioshock 2, Metroid: Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2. I'll also get Mass Effect 2, Dante's Inferno, God of War 3, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain and I Am Alive, but reviews and my schedule will dictate whether I get them at release or wait for a price drop. Like Michael Corvin, I think Dead Rising 2 should be on the list. It's another day-1 purchase for me.
I'm bummed SW: Old Republic is a MMORPG... I just don't have the time (or desire) to invest in those types of games. I'd much prefer a RPG like the did on the original Xbox. Oh well. I'm very much looking forward to GoW III and Bioshock 2.

Modnation Racers also should be amazing
I'm hoping Castlevania will be worth the wait, and would love for a Prince of Persia game on par with PS2's Sands of Time (more puzzles and less mindless fighting)
