I'm excited for that one, and more importantly, for a new line of "Universal Classics" tables, whatever that means. I figure that Jaws and BTTF Trilogy are a given - especially since it's apparent that Speilberg's company is on board with the licensing. Would love to see "1941" and Blues Brothers but they seem less likely. Wonder if the Universal Monsters are fair game for these tables.

FWIW : If you're playing a pinball game to save an alien who has the power to levitate objects, and he just lets you Ball Out anyway, I say he's kind of a dick, let him die.

Hey, what do you know? Official Press Release :

Universal Classics Pinball is a new pinball collection inspired by three award-winning Amblin Entertainment motion pictures including E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, and the Back to the Future trilogy.

Players can get behind the wheel of the DeLorean time machine and travel through different eras of Hill Valley to fix the space-time continuum on the Back to the Future table, take on the terrifying great white shark on the Jaws table, and go on an adventure with Elliot as he helps E.T. contact his spaceship and return to the stars on the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial table!

“Universal Classics Pinball captures the most memorable moments from three films that defined my generation’s childhood, and are undoubtedly among the favorite films of Zen’s pinball design team,” said Mel Kirk, Zen’s Vice President of Publishing. “We could not have planned a better set of launch tables for the new Pinball FX3 platform, and we know pinball fans will agree!”

The Universal Classics Pinball pack will release as a part of the launch of the Pinball FX3 platform on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The themed tables will also release as individual in-app purchases for Zen Pinball on the App Store and Google Play.

Well, I'm kind of in love with that trio.

Here's hoping that we can see a Scott Pilgrim movie (Universal) or comic (Oni Press) table! That would be perfect for 7 modes.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Bought it and the Universal Classics pack. Thankfully the Universal pack is back at the old price of $9.99 for 3 tables. They had been pricing them a little higher lately.

Looking forward to trying them out later tonight. Can't wait to play me some Jaws and E.T.

FYI - After I imported my tables, it took me to a download screen for the titles it didn't import automatically. One of the titles that came up was "The Walking Dead" which I never bought but was able to dl so I got it free.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I downloaded the base game and imported my tables last night...too bad after I was done I had to take care of my toddler and go to sleep. But at least it's done, and it did look like a very slick interface. I'll have to check to see if it got all of my owned tables (minus the ones it won't import like PvsZ ), a free one would be nice though.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Played some of the new tables today and had some fun on them. I had a crazy multiball going on Back to the Future with 6 balls on the table at once, and on Jaws it had my favorite table effect,
Spoiler:
at certain times the table will rock, effecting the ball rolling on the table,
since the upside down table on Infinity Gauntlet. Had some fun with the challenge modes, one ball and five minute are fun and survival is creative.
Anyone creating tourneys on the PS4?

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I ran into some awful glitches on BTTF with the ball warping all over the table and briefly freezing in place.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Played a couple of old tables on FX3 last night in Biolab and World War Hulk. I have to say the new challenges really spruce up the old tables, make them feel new or at least that remastered feeling where you don't mind playing them again. Be interesting to see if I'm good enough to do well in these challenges and complete a few.

I ran into the glitch where I lost my progress. All earned stars and unlocks are gone, and it reset my settings, such as turning the annoying guide character back on.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

At least with Zen, I have faith that these things will get fixed fairly soon.

Farsight still hasn't got a clue what's going on. Stern Pinball Arcade got an update a few weeks ago that added Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters was unlocked for the people that had bought Pack 2 even though they were saying it shouldn't be until it went on sale on the store, which was this past Tuesday. They also apparently added the LE versions for their premium tables. They're only available in game, and you supposedly can buy the packs if you own the tables pack 1 has the 2 AC/DC tables and the Star Trek one, pack 2 has Mustang and Ghostbusters, but if you go to buy them in the store it will tell you they aren't available if you have the tables from buying the packs, it doesn't recognize you as having the tables if you bought the multi-table packs.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I know most of us like our Pinball digital...but I got the Stern Pinball Arcade physical disc (it's now under $20) and Ghostbusters was available to play for free. I'm not sure of the exact list but it's 13 or 14 tables. Extremely good value as long as you don't mind the disc thing. Just a thought.

BTW, at least my experience with Pinball FX3 has been solid so far. I'm sure I'll run into I'm not good enough at Pinball darn it will set in soon enough though, lol.

So, are people playing Single Player Classic or Single Player for their leaderboard chasing?

Not sure, most of my play has been the challenge modes. It's funny, I kind of like the Passive Upgrades, but I'm not a fan of the Wizard Powers. I'll probably go with whatever board has the most people in my friend list already on it for whatever table I'm going to play.

Basically, that's Pinball FX2 aka no modifiers, powerups, etc. And despite all of the modifiers, powerups, etc...I still very much suck at pinball. The only reason I'm getting some of the achievements is either I have done them before (Cosmic Cube, World War Hulk Arena) or repetition (Level Cap Reached). So...has anybody in here mastered a table yet? I live my pinball life vicariously through others, lol. (Oh Pinata...)

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I played quite a bit this weekend. The challenges are a nice add to the game.
Played some challenges, single player and tried out the online leagues.

I have yet to master a PFX table. Suppose I should read the table rules.
Unlike TPA where I have actually played them in real life and know the rules better.
