Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Since late last year when I try to download or do the trials for season two and the others for Pinball Arcade on my PS4 I get the message "There is no content. It might not be for sale yet, or might no longer be for sale."

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Yeah, I think htere's some problem about purchasing games via the in-game app. I wasn't able to download the Phantom of the Opera table which should have been free since I bought the S4 pass yesterday. I got the same "No Content" message. I was able to download it from the PSN store though.
I guess there's no way to download trials of the tables though.

One of the new tables I bought yesterday - High Roller Casino is just amazing. What an awesome table that is.

Iron Six-Shooters and Steel Blades Collide
in the Iron & Steel Pack

Sparks (and bullets) fly in the Iron & Steel Pack, bringing two new original tables, CastleStorm and Wild West Rampage, to Zen’s pinball platforms!

In CastleStorm pinball, players will team up once again with the heroic knight Sir Gareth as he returns to protect the Kingdom from the relentless hordes of vicious Vikings and their raging leader, Chief Ramhorn. The table features single and multiball game modes set within a Viking stronghold, an enormous fire breathing dragon, an armored troll, and even a charming donkey!

YEEEEHAAAW! The Wild West Rampage table stars Cindy, a bold bounty hunter who arrives in the western town of Rackton Point with a bone to pick with the town’s crooked Sheriff Evans. Cindy has her sights aimed on defeating his men and ruining their crooked plans to control the town, but it definitely won’t be easy to loosen Evans’ stranglehold. Hit the trail and experience an exciting Western-inspired playfield complete with a rolling 3D steam engine, swinging saloon doors, a six-shooter ball locker, and duels with members of Sheriff Evans’ posse!

Two New Zen Original Tables Coming to Zen Pinball 2

+ Posted by Bobby Loertscher on Feb 24, 2015 // Community Manager, Zen Studios

The Iron & Steel Pack, an exciting new pinball two-pack featuring a table based on our hit CastleStorm franchise as well as a Western-inspired table dubbed Wild West Rampage, is launching today for Zen Pinball 2, representing our first original Zen tables in three years!

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you, the PlayStation community, for providing us helpful feedback and letting us know what you’d like to see in Zen Pinball 2 on PS3, Vita and PS4. Simply said, your feedback and encouragement persuaded us to get back to original table development! Each time we announce a new table, a flood of ideas come in from the community, so we took those ideas and ran with them. Now today, when the PlayStation Store updates, you will get to see those ideas come to life in the Iron & Steel pack.

Our last original themed table was Epic Quest, so returning to original themes was really fantastic for our development team. We had a great time taking your favorite parts of CastleStorm, including the fire-breathing dragon, the sheep-launching ballista, and even some tower defense elements from the original game and crafting them into a fun, new table for Zen Pinball 2. Additionally, bringing some of our favorite Old West elements to life for the Wild West Rampage table was a dream come true! You can’t go wrong with train robberies, duels, gunslingers, a corrupt sheriff, and a determined, strong leading lady at the center of it all.

To commemorate this release we are revealing a brand new trailer that showcases the great pinball action in both tables, CastleStorm and Wild West Rampage. Enjoy!

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pagzbSmJWt4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

As always, don’t forget to purchase this pack on either PS3 or PS Vita first, then import to PS4 and enjoy on all three platforms! Please let us know if you have any questions or requests for features or tables, we would love to hear what you’d like to see next!

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Things are confusing on the Xbox store as I can't tell were PFX2 for 360 ends and it begins on X1.

Does it matter how one purchases a table to get cross-platform play or is it like PSN where you must buy it on the 360 to have it on both for one price?

Never mind, I found it on the Zen forums. It does work like that.

So in other words, keep doing what I am doing...buying it on 360 and then worry about it later when I get a XB1 about my Pinball FX stuff.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Right and bear in mind the following:

What about Plants vs. Zombies and Super League Football?
We are working on bringing these tables to Xbox One.

What about the original Pinball FX Collection, Nightmare Mansion, Buccaneer and Rocky & Bullwinkle?
These are not coming to Xbox One. These were built in old tech, and cannot make the next gen jump.

What about Ms. Splosion Man?
This table is not planned to release on Xbox One.
I'm hella bummed about MSM not coming. I imagine that's a licensing issue with Microsoft now that they own Twisted Pixel I could get insane scores on that. I believe I had over 1B on the 360.

Addams Family Coming to The Pinball Arcade on PS4

+ Posted by Mike Lindsey on Mar 13, 2015 // Community Manager, FarSight Studios

My name is Mike Lindsey and I’m the Community Manager here at FarSight Studios. Badger and I handle many of the community tasks at the studio, as well as host a monthly Twitch stream where we show off the new pinball table before it’s released. We live in the mountains of Southern California and frequently have to shovel the snow from our driveways before leaving for work. We didn’t choose the thug life, the thug life chose us. It’s been a little while since we posted, and we have lots of new DLC coming out with this one!

We are proud to announce that we will be releasing the awesome Addams Family, Starship Troopers, Earthshaker, and Party Zone tables for PS4 on March 17th.

This launch brings the amount of tables available in your digital pinball collection to 56! These machines used to be found in arcades across America before video arcade games replaced them (bummer). That’s why we are here, to introduce a new generation to the amazing themes, designs, and deep rules that come with pinball tables.

The Addams Family was released by Williams in 1992 and is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables in the history of pinball, with over 20,000 units sold (More than any table ever!). It was designed by the legendary Pat Lawlor and Larry DeMar (who also designed Twilight Zone, Banzai Run, and Funhouse).

This table was integrated more deeply to the movie than any other licensed pinball table of its time. The Addams Family featured the first ever optical target bank (in the bookcase), and the “Thing Flip” which was the first time a pinball tables flippers could be controlled by the tables CPU. When the “Thing Flip” is active the table can actually make shots for you. Another great feature is “The Power” which causes magnets to dramatically affect the direction of the ball on the playfield. It’s one of our favorite tables ever!

Thanks to our amazing Kickstarter backers, we were able to raise the funds needed to secure the licenses to digitize this amazing piece of Americana. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without the overwhelming support of our fans! THANK YOU GUYS!

The Addams Family isn’t the only headliner launching with this batch of tables, though!

Starship Troopers

Badger and I would agree that Starship Troopers is one of our favorite licenses. The movie came out when we were around 10 (give or take) and it definitely had us running around the yard calling ourselves “Rico.” And don’t even get us started on Denise Richards.

Starship Troopers (1997): features the license for the popular film of the same name released in 1997. Designed by Joe Balcer and Joe Kaminkow, this table conveys the style and feel of the movie with its vibrantly colored playfield, music from the movie, and custom speech. The gameplay features hardcore sci-fi action with three Flippers, high scoring Nuke ‘em rounds, four unique Multi-Ball modes, a moving Warrior Bug live fire battle simulator, and a Brain Bug that pops out of the playfield! Starship Troopers has appropriately been described as easy to play but hard to master.

Earthshaker

I’m sure many of you have heard, we have some pretty crazy earthquakes out here in California. This table was inspired by the semi-frequent earthshakers we get due to the San Andreas Fault. It’s just a little taste of some California excitement!

Earthshaker (1989): Designed by Pat Lawlor, this entertaining table features a shaker motor built into the cabinet that physically shakes the table when an earthquake is triggered. Early versions of the table featured a building that sunk down into the table during the earthquake but was removed for cost reasons. 200 of these special tables were released. A bright colorful playfield, interesting rule set, and great music and sound make Earthshaker a true pinball classic. 5,265 units of this table were produced.

Party Zone

Sometimes you gotta party, but don’t want to leave the house. Now you can! Just fire up Party Zone and never leave home again!

Party Zone (1991): Designed by Dennis Nordman, this table’s theme is all about having a good time. Players are challenged with getting the Party Animals, Party Monsters and Party Dudes to the Cosmic Cottage for a Multi-Ball Party! From there, they’ll score Jackpots and shoot for the ultimate Big Bang! Request Time allows players to make way cool musical selections using the Flippers, including Pinball Wizard from The Who! The colorful Playfield includes awesome features such as the Dancing Dummy who bops ’til he drops, the host and DJ, Captain B. Zarr, whose head animates and follows the ball around the Playfield and the Prince of Puns, the Supersonic Robotic Comic. When it’s time to party, there is no better place than Bally’s Party Zone. 4,000 units of this table were produced.

Come hang out with Badger and I on Twitch Wednesday, March 18th at 3:00 PM Pacific! We will be showing off the new tables and the super cool Addams Family Ball Pack which you definitely don’t want to miss. Everyone that shows up has the chance to win some free stuff so, set a reminder and don’t forget to follow us.

We will see you at the Twitch stream!

Not a huge surprise, but cool nevertheless :

Announcing Avengers: Age of Ultron Pinball

+ Posted by Bobby Loertscher on Apr 07, 2015 // Community Manager, Zen Studios

Zen Studios’ next Marvel pinball table will be inspired by the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron film! The table will bring the blockbuster action of the film to Zen Pinball 2 on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita on April 21st.

The Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron table will allow players to relive the struggle of Earth’s mightiest heroes, including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye against Ultron and his seemingly endless army. The table features dedicated game modes for each member of the Avengers team, including a first-person sharpshooting mini-game starring Hawkeye, a spectacular aerial melee combat sequence between Iron Man and Ultron, and selectable difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, or Hard) to cater to each player’s individual skill level.

As you know, we have created many other Marvel Pinball tables, but nothing is quite like getting to work on a table that is based on a big blockbuster movie like Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s both exhilarating and a bit overwhelming to base a pinball table on a film as it is being made! Often times, final decisions about the film (like costumes, lines, etc.) have not even been made while we’re designing the table, so we have to be able to change with the film as needed. It really keeps us on our toes! We also have to stay true to the filmmakers’ vision while still creating something uniquely fun. Piece of cake, right?

Timing a table release with a film’s release is always a challenge; we have to be careful that there are no leaks, and most of all, no movie spoilers! Marvel’s Avengers is a hulk of a franchise (pun intended!) and we cannot express how proud we are that Marvel trusts us to do the job well. We’re stoked to be a part of this and that we get to share it with all of you. We truly hope you enjoy this table, the film, and more Marvel adventures yet to come.

See you on the leaderboards!

And this blog post was from last week (when I was out of town). It's coming the week after the Avengers Ultron table :

Star Wars Pinball: Star Wars Rebels Coming to Zen Pinball 2

+ Posted by Bobby Loertscher on Mar 30, 2015 // Community Manager, Zen Studios

We’re astronomically overjoyed to reveal our next pinball table, Star Wars Pinball: Star Wars Rebels, based on the critically acclaimed animated TV show on Disney XD, Star Wars Rebels.

Star Wars Pinball: Star Wars Rebels will take players on a journey to a galaxy far, far away, teaming them up with the crew of the starship Ghost, including Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Zeb Orrelios, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla and the grumpy astromech Droid Chopper as they join forces to take on the evil Empire. The table will feature fully-animated starships including the Ghost and TIE fighters, a flaming engine thruster spindisk, Chopper’s own mini playfield, and seven exciting missions inspired by the show.

We know you’ve all been anxious to see if we would continue working with Lucasfilm to create new Star Wars pinball tables, and we are excited to say that we are doing just that! This new table is set during a time period never explored in the films, so we’re happy to be able to bring our own blend of pinball magic to this new phase of the Star Wars universe.

The table will be available as DLC for Zen Pinball 2 for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, as well as the standalone Star Wars Pinball game on April 28, just in time for May the Fourth celebrations!

May the Force be with you.

They're also on sale on Steam. 50% off Heroes Within and Balance of the Force, and 77% off the original Star Wars pack.

As the the Valve partnership, it's gotta be Portal. But if there's a table pack, I could also maybe see a TF2 table.

I'm thinking Portal, L4D, and Half Life. TF makes sense given The Avengers theme.

The new table that just released today also got the discount. It's $0.69 on Steam right now. Pretty sure it's a pricing error, so jump on that!
