You will have to put un the campign disc of ODST and it will say PLAY THE BETA instead of PREVIEW THE BETA. From there on in your guess is as good as mine.

From what I gather reading other forums it is supposed to go live sometime "late morning" which could very well mean afternoon. Speculation hints at 3pm but, of course, that is just guess work.

I'm sure MS is in contact with the local power company to insure that the nuclear power plant will be online to help support the massive server load. Good luck getting this working today. I'll wait a few days to let the servers cool off.

Some more opinions....I'll admit I haven't played Halo 3 much lately, but there were a lot of different gametypes also. Team SWAT, some capture 10 flags game and a few others that I didn't really like much.
The beta has TWO maps also. I didn't think they were that great...good for about 8 players I suppose. I love the Halo games, but this one has me a bit iffy on if I like it or not. Some of the enhancements seemed forced. There is also a melee death move from behind...which was ok I suppose.

Thanks for the updates, DJ. It will all be new to me seeing as how I just played my first online Halo match today but nice to hear some first hand accounts.

Microsoft owns Halo, not Bungie. Bungie seceded from MS(and are currently an independent company free to make games for any platform), but Microsoft gets to keep Halo and IIRC, they get first look on any future Bungie project before third parties.
They are ready to move on because that's all they have worked on for over a decade. Bungie is stepping aside and I'm sure Microsoft has another company/group waiting in the wings to take over. For a while it was rumored that Gearbox (Borderlands) was in the running for Halo 4.

Hope anyone doesn't have there heart set on playing tonight. Been sitting here fo 20 minutes and haven't gotten into a match. Looks like miyu & Music might be having the same problem.
What's hilarious is matchmaking went from 311k playing to 250k. People jumping this broken ass shit. I thought they were prepared for 3 mil.?
