Pretty much everything in the trailer looks awesome except the jet packs.

Microsoft owns Halo, not Bungie. Bungie seceded from MS(and are currently an independent company free to make games for any platform), but Microsoft gets to keep Halo and IIRC, they get first look on any future Bungie project before third parties.

They are ready to move on because that's all they have worked on for over a decade. Bungie is stepping aside and I'm sure Microsoft has another company/group waiting in the wings to take over. For a while it was rumored that Gearbox (Borderlands) was in the running for Halo 4.

With custom weapons all the rage now between COD:MW2 and Borderlands, I hope to see that carry over to the Halo universe. Maybe not in Reach but hopefully H4.

I disagree about the jet packs. It seems like it would be basically the grav lift from H3 but less dicking around trying to hit the thing exactly correct.

Am i alone in thinking the trailer kind of gave a Tribes 2 feel?

It's funny - all of the non-traditional Halo stuff in that trailer (jetpacks, stealth kills, etc) is what is most interesting to me. But the rest of it seems very similar to the past games, so I think I'll probably pass on this one.

After having read the Gameinformer article I'm more interested in Reach. I like the team idea and that we finally get to see a Female Spartan.

Jet packs do look questionable, but I hope they'll be an option instead of the norm.

Ok, that looks pretty awesome. New weapons seem pretty cool, and I think the jetpacks look fun.

I'm definitely holding onto my copy of Halo 3: ODST to try the beta out.

I thought they said that they wanted to start making other types of games. You gotta remember, these guys think of themselves as artists and creators, right? So they don't want to just keep beating the dead horse (even if tons of money falls out). I think it's just an artistic integrity thing.

Apparently yeah, though you get more if you obtain certain secret 'metrics'.

i don't even know what that is. are these things you get like Avatar things for your gamer character or some silly stuff like that?

i guess you need the multi-player maps to play anything, which i don't have and don't intend to pay for since only 1 day. oh well.

The maps are all free now.

But yeah, I'm sure it will be something like a special emblem or helmet for reach MP.

Anyway, I've been having a blast playing.
