God of War III Release Date Made Official

January 28, 2010 - Sony announced the release date for God of War 3, easily one of the most anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusive titles for 2010.

The title will ship on March 16th in North America.

The God of War III Ultimate Edition will also ship on the same day. This edition includes a sculpted replica of Pandora's Box, art book, soundtrack cd, and additional digital content for $99.

I preordered the UE for my brother's birthday. I can't wait to see this thing in person. The pictures of it look unbelievably cool. The DLC code is on the same card as the demo code. You may just be able to pre-order the regular edition and get the card with the DLC code. I almost didn't get the card at all until I asked for it.

I'd be kinda tempted to get the Collector's Edition if it had an awesome Kratos figure. Then again, I'm also a sucker for soundtracks, hmm...

I'm pumped for this. I'm just starting the collection. My back log is significant though, so i'll probably hold off for awhile. The collectors edition does look cool, but I'm just tight on space, so probably the regular edition for me eventually.

Best Buy is only offering 10 bucks off the Collection if you preorder part 3.

Gamestop is offering the demo plus a skin as is Amazon.

Sadly, the 7/11 Slurpee codes seem like better bonuses to me.

Where do you see that at? Because this Sunday they have the collection on sale for $29.99. So that might be worth stacking if it works.

I've only seen it instore. You pick up the preorder box and inside it is a $10 off thing apparently.

I've ordered it personally from Amazon because both are cheaper there.

I wonder if you can pre-order, get your 10 bucks off the collection, and then come back later, and cancel the pre-order and get your deposit back.

Amazon is not offering $10 off credit for the purchase of a future game with purchase of GOW 3

It's a hassle, but so they don't try to take off the credit later. Just go back and pickup the game at full price and then go and return the game purchase. You've fulfilled your obligation and they can't go and take back the pre-order bonus then since they do that as a return and then put the credit on the register when you buy the game for real. Or wait until the date passes on the box for the pre-order when it says you can go back and get a refund of the pre-order deposit.

Just a quick (probably dumb) question: I'm new to this generation's consoles. Is the GOW collection (1 and 2, right?) a must-buy?

If you haven't played the first two - then I'd say yes. I skipped over the PS2 and do not regreat buying the collection at all. Two very fun games.
