I'm trying to eat here!!!!

This is a f'ing awesome post, and anybody who played GOW II can fully relate.

I can't. I beat Zeus in one try. That was a cakewalk compared to the sudden and abrupt QTE whilst fighting Ares in GOW I.

I found Ares to be the biggest design "flaw". I'm guessing that it wasn't so bad if you played with the sword during the game and knew how to use it, but taking away your blades and making you fight the final boss with an unfamiliar weapon is doo-doo...especially when he's spamming you with unblockable attacks.

I can't believe how much I'm loving II though. It has spot-on gameplay/presentation/difficulty/puzzles etc. I do have a memory of an irritating QTE at the end though...not looking forward to that.
My only issue with the Ares fight was the second section when Kratos had to protect his family. The difficulty was pretty brutal until I improved my strategy.

I just spammed magic attacks for that one.

I struggled much more with the third phase of the Ares fight with the sword and the unblockable attacks. I actually switched to easy mode just to convince myself that he could be beaten and to work on a strategy before going back to normal mode.

I'll eventually remember that I prefer GOW on easy mode in the first place.

I'm only about half way through I think, but it's been a blast so far. Just the music-mini game seemed out of place and needlessly frustrating (for me at least).

One thing that always amuses me about the GoW games though is how it tuns me into a ruthless woman and baby killing machine who nevertheless feels compelled to run around each area obliterating every single piece of pottery in the room.

I beat Ares the first time out. Even with the sword. I just kept the hack/slash approach.

Though I did go "That was a bit of a easy final boss battle."

It's bringing up "page not found" for me. Maybe it was a limited time thing?

Finished the game, tested this out to see what would happen. She's just all like "you men and your war/vengeance, fine, talk to my husband if you must." Basically, it just bypasses the romping.

Yup, there's really no difference whether you choose to "stay" or not.

Because they want you to think you're going to get rewarded sexually for saving her. So "it" is the proverbial "it".

Nope. You also don't get any experience for saying no.

I don't know how many times I died, missing the QTE because I was watching the death annimations.
One of the godly possessions will auto complete the QTEs for you on a subsequent run through.

Do you know the name of it? I've been picking up a bunch as I go, but I'm sure I missed one or two.

Re: Official God Of War III thread of deserving a 10 not bias journalism

A couple things about the godly possessions abilities:

1) They only work on the difficulty you collected them on
2) They disable trophies

So, there's little point to it except to just blow through the game and see all the cutscenes.
