Official Xbox Live Primetime Thread (1 vs. 100) - Schedules! Prizes! Trading?

Played the beta friday night. In the 2 hrs I was in the mob once. Made it to like 30ish, but screwed up a question along with the one.

- got disconnected once
- i think in total there were 3 resets where the one and the mob were chosen, but then another new game started instead
- a lot of current event questions
- lot of players who just took the cash after 3 questions. I guess they didn't read that there were no skill prizes for the beta
- commercials can be pretty long sometimes

In general this looks like a winner, and i'm definately going to be playing more.

They did pretty good. Only missed one question in a half-hour and only eliminated once.

But since they were in "The Crowd" none of it mattered. They couldn't be eliminated since they weren't playing. They were only trying to increase their position to be picked for The Mob or The One. Also some general sweepstakes entries.

The most recent OXM podcast talks about this, and it sounds like they'll pick the One or the 100, and give away prizes, based on scores; scoring is based on right answers and speed of answering. Not sure if I'd prefer straight up scoring or random selection...or a little of both.
I definitely would like the 1 to not be eligible again at least that same night.

I'm pretty sure you're mistaken. Watch again. They're in the Mob each time (whjich I'm sure won't happen when the game is Live). They stay as part of the active mob in each subsequent round. You can tell which members are part of the active mob by 1)Their avatar is in front of a lit background and 2) There is a star by their gamerpic on the top of the screen. When those other contestants on their screen missed a question, they lost the star. Also in one round where the One took the money, the top 3 Mob members got a prize and these Destructoid guys just missed out on it.

It looked to me like every game they were in the crowd until the very end when it said mob instead of crowd.

Yes, but it's a weighted randomness. It's all in the info, links, and video previews earlier in this thread.

Yup. It clearly says "The Crowd" behind them until the end when it changes to "The Mob".

Reading about this on their site, looks like this will still be beta with sweepstakes entries and not actual prizes for competing.

I think it would be neat if they have Scene It controller support. I mean, I realize they'll work, but the button layouts are different enough to warrant a different presentation of the answers (vertical as opposed to horizontal).

So, I'm a gold member, and the game starts today. Where do I download it? I couldn't find it anywhere.

I'm sure it'll be obvious on the dashboard closer to time. It may simply be a self-contained "channel".

Apparently, it will be available sometime today. A new card will be added in the spotlight section to "Schedule a reminder", and from there you can download the client.

Smart move, Microsoft, having everybody download this at the last minute. I, for one, welcome a return to the 56kbps days. Ah, nostalgia!
