Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I already worked on setting up and saving a rotation when I found out I'd be running the show. So I now actually understand how this all works. Yay for me. I have to switch in some of the more tried and true maps that you posted yesterday but I would like some feedback. I won't be on tonight, but I'll try to get everything set up and post the rotation in here beforehand for scrutiny.

C'mon DVDTalkers... we can make 12. Let's make it happen.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

The only map that jumps out at me is Bridge Out, which I'm pretty sure is asymmetric and not a great collection map. On Island Outpost, I would think that Over the Bridges would be a better way to go.

From the Warhawk Wiki:

Bridge Out - The western side is open, but the eastern is closed. Eucadians get the main base, and chernovans get the installation. This is not a fair game.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I don't really know the expansion maps very well, so hopefully those are good.

If you start expansions at the 7th map, you're looking at kicking Ravenous and Z at about 10PM...which may or may not be ideal...your call. I'd also move the Dogfight down one slot, which will get you an extra round out of Chew.

Finally, make sure you have the flag limit set to 5 on the CTF maps. I think it defaults to 3.

If we get to 12, I won't get in a Warhawk the rest of the night (unless it's just for transport).

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

It's not as bad as it sounds. After months of trying differend maps and settings, it's pretty much routine at this point.

Still...

I'll swap that one out. I don't think I've ever played Bridge Out so I was taking it for a spin, but that sounds like a terrible collections game.

I don't know the names of any of the expansion maps. They were just smallish and expansion so they won. I'll drop the dogfight a round or two and add another game before the expansions start.

Anybody have a preference for what kind of game? I didn't add any Zones to the rotation... opinions?

I would vote for collection over zones. Zones is too frustrating with so few people as you just feel like you are juggling back in forth and never really seeing any action. Our collection game last week was fun

A second Collection game then? I already have one in the rotation but I'm certainly willing to add a second. I enjoy Collection.

over zones? certainly

although if there is not a death match with jetpacks then I would vote for that.

Just don't include that massive map we had last week. Everybody was in the air and I was alone on the ground driving a tank....blowing up empty vehicles/turrets for target practice.

I agree with this. Zones is fun with a lot of players because you end up with a few people fighting over each zone. In our game, we just end up running around.

I swear on my mother's grave that I loaded Badlands - South City in that slot, which is tiny with no vehicles. We used to use it for the lobby before K&N.

...not sure what happened there.

I think I like CTF better than Collection, but variety is nice.

There should be a DM with jetpacks at the end. But admittedly, I'm not at all familiar with the different expansion maps.

Just a couple of nights ago I played DM with jetpacks and it was really fun. Don't remember the name of the map but it was the Eucadian side of Northern Bridge (the village only)

That's called High City. I think the Main Base on Island Outpost could be good with jetpacks too.

But, I'd say if you are doing jetpacks, you might as well do an expansion map. On the Deck on Tau Crater is a good one that we've played a few times in the past.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Well I got on late and played maybe 2 rounds. Thats alright though. Cant say it was that fun cause on that collection was it really necessary to have your whole aresnal emptied into me for 2 tokens chess? You guys were up maybe 20 with digi getting everything and we cant have 2.

How am I shot down so easily in a warhawk. It seems it doesnt take long for me to be locked onto, than shot down. Where as I have to wait forever for the lock to take and than I shoot no one down if it does even connect.
