Does the Sony version not simply stream the game to the PSP via an active connection? Or does it run off a Memory Stick?
I honestly don't know.

You can buy an iDevice game on the PC and re-download it on the device. The technology is there.

No, any PS1 game you buy (from the PS3 or PSP) can be sent directly to the other system to be played independent of the other (and you can even transfer the save file back and forth if you swap systems). The two systems share the DRM, so it's setup that you can't send it to or play it on multiple PS3s/PSPs.

I'm glad the sd slot to this one so I can have my sd card collect dust in this rather than in my Wii.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't lead to DSi only games. The downloadable content is interesting, but unlike the Wii, there is plenty of great DS titles to keep my current system busy.

I think I've bought every single major revision that was widely released when it comes to Nintendo portables (well, the micro I only got much later for cheap), but I'm passing on this one and waiting for the inevitable DSi Lite...
Ah, who am I kidding, it'll probably be hard to get at first and I'll jump on it as soon as I see it at Target. Must... resist...

I like the newest and shiniest toy around, but since I just bought a silver DS Lite for myself yesterday, I'll pass (my daughter was graciously allowing me to use her oldest Lite with the creaky hinge and super-scratched screen).
So now she has two DS Lites, so I can't justify going out to buy this for her just yet. I'd rather spend that money on a Wii for her during summer break.
But....I'm so incredibly stoked that they chose to come out with a color other than white.
Hey, it comes out on my birthday!

Holy shit the price?!?!?111one
Actually, in all seriousness, the price doesn't bother me. The lack of the slot for the GBA games does, though. The wife plays DS and GBA games alot, and I thought about getting one for her until I read about it

This puppy has 2 processors... the regular plane-jane DS ARM9 67mhz processor and a new 132mhz ARM9 DSi processor. Be interesting to see how they utilize that new power.

You want my $169 Nintendo? Put Mother 3 on DSI Ware and then you might have something.
Edit: Ha! That lasted about a month before I flip flopped. Oh well I can always use the paddle controller with my wife's DS.

Me either. You know what you are getting with this product out of the box. If you already own a DS/lite, you know you'll get that $130 worth. The extra $40 for the features they are adding isn't that bad.

I have held off purchasing my DS Lite for this reason, but I'm just not sure which version to get now.

The only thing I use the GBA slot for on my DS Lite is the rumble pack, and while I'll miss it a bit, it's not a deal breaker. I'm putting my pre-order in today for a blue one, although I wish it was a couple shades darker.

I pre-ordered on Amazon. Undecided if I'll keep it...but I'm sure it will sell it Day 1 and I can sell it on Craigslist for a few extras bucks worse comes to worse.

Knowing that Space Invaders Extreme 2 is coming and I can't use my paddle controller = no sale. Wii Ware has been a huge dissapointment so DSI Ware is not going to get me on board to buy this.

Fine I'll complain about the price. It's way too much for too little an upgrade. The whole thing is just so half-assed. The only real difference for me would be to play DSi games. That's not worth an upgrade. I'll stick with my good 'ol DSphat for now.

I like this:
That was one of the things that bugged me about the DS Lite.
Sounds like the audio will be better on the DSi, too.

Mita:
Um, this isn’t really something to bring up last, but the Nintendo DSi has a reset function. The reset button also serves as the power button, but when you press it, it doesn’t just reset. With Nintendo DSi software you can move around, return to the menu, or play a different game, without shutting down the power every time. As a game console, I feel like it has a strong sense of unity. It’s very subtle, but I hope everyone experiences that.
Iwata:
Speaking of subtle aspects of the Nintendo DSi, I like the way when you insert a game card that game’s icon pops up on the menu, and when you take it out, the icon disappears. Before, when you changed games, you had to shut off the power once. With the Nintendo DSi, you just lightly press the power button to return to the menu, and change software without turning off the power.
