I just got verification that both of my local stores have corrected the mistake. It looks like the deal has come to and end.

Maybe, some at CAG are reporting success doing that, but I think it's poor form to try to Jedi Mind-trick some Best Buy or Target employee in hopes of getting them to match a deal you know isn't valid. I won't disparage those who try, but personally for me, that's beyond where I'm comfortable going for a deal, even one this good.

When will the preorder sales for MW3 show up? Doesn't Amazon usually give a $20 preorder credit?

Patience, young padawan. All I know is that after the big brouhaha last year with Black Ops where the $20 voucher kept disappearing, I'm not gonna wait to pre-order this time. (Hopefully it's a good game )

You don't actually get the credit though until the game ships which is still months away.

I know but I've always gone the Amazon route and have consistently gotten $20 off games from the previous games credit.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

At the local Best Buy a salesman printed up a flyer for me that had a pre-order deal something like this: Pre-order 5 new games and get a $100 giftcard (after purchase of the 5).

Don't have the flyer with me, but it was a list of 12 or so of what appeared to be the big sellers of the coming months.

Bioshock 2 is $10 at amazon. I don't know if that's a deal, but was shocked to see it that low. Here's the link http://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-2-Pla..._videogames_14

since I have had mine I have received

20 dollar amazon gift card for 10 dollars....I have done this twice

10 dollar gift card for spending 10 bucks on kindle books

and twice I have bought a book and got 10 dollars...both books together were 7.50...which got me 20 bucks...

I saved 15 bucks on the kindle...and have received an additional 70 bucks on 37.50 spending...stuff I would have bought anyway...so I have saved over 40 bucks at this point..

I have not even used deals like save 25 on 50 in camping gear...or save 15 on 20 in kindle skins...

I find it a bit irritating that those of us who paid more for our Kindles get less. It would be nice to be able to opt in on these special offers.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Blockbuster has their B1G1 going on again this weekend. This time, it’s buy any game $14.99 and higher and get a game $14.99 or lower for free. I picked up Metroid Other M and Assassins Creed Brotherhood for $16.xx after tax. They had a case for AC2, but didn’t have the game. So the mgr was nice enough to do Brotherhood for the same price.

I think they are just on the screensavers, right?

I completely agree. The early adopters are being left out on the cold on some good deals.

You see the ads in three places...

1: Screen saver....this does not bother me at all...

2: Home page...at the bottom...takes up less than 10% of the screen at the very bottom and does not get in the way at all...

3: and you can choose to go to a special page from the menu that list all the deals on one page....

No ads in any other part of the kindle...and never while you are reading a book...

one thing I worry about is that they might change how much the ads take up your kindle down the road. They say no ads will happen during a book, and this is true...but in their terms they have the right to change this down the road if that want...

I also fully believe they are making the deals better in an effort to move more kindles...once word of mouth gets out on how great the special kindle is...I think they will back up on these free 10 bucks for video games, or 20 dollar gift card for 10...and it will be more 10% off soap...or other shit that is really not that good of a deal...

I hope I am wrong, and I continue to get these great deals...
