Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I thought I read on CAG that the "placeholder" is dead this year. If you want to return something you have to return all three to get your money back, and no exchanges.

As pointed out, the K-mart coupon train tends to be a better overall deal, especially with the $30 they are giving out with Batman.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I buy a lot of games at KMart. I'll be using my $20 Gears 3 coupon to get Arkham for $40, and then have a $30 coupon to use towards MW3 or Skyrim. Three top-notch titles for $130? Not bad if ya ask me

I have a $10 off $50 TRU coupon I got in the mail. I'm probably going to pick up Gunstringer, Star Fox 64 3D and another $40 game for $70 + tax total. That seems like a good deal, if I can find another $40 game I want. Damn Best Buy and their cheap God of War and Ico Compilations deals!

The CS can't help you either -- you'll be returning a game with a receipt that says you got the game on sale for $40. She can't give you $60 in credit for that game even if you ask nicely.
You're right about the return, of course, but if you only want one or two games (instead of 3) this is actually a decent deal.

And based on all the reviews, that Spider-Man game is still priced about $38 too high.

I'm also bound by the 5 minute rule of stealth edits. So you're hallucinating.

This would be great for me. I have a Red Card and an additional 5% coupon from Target which expires next month, so I should be able to combine these and get Uncharted 3, Gears of War 3, and NBA 2k12 for less than $40/game. The rest of my video game purchases will have to wait for Black Friday sales.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Question pertaining to the Kmart coupons you get when buying a game, in my case the $20 one that came for buying Gears 3. Can you say purchase a $60 game now($40 after coupon) but when you return it do you still get $60 in store credit? Otherwise what is the method people used again to get a 1600 point card? Since it is only $19.99 but poeple said they have been able to get it to work. thx

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Nope, they credit you back minus the coupon. So in your case, $39.99 + tax.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Alright, lame. Well' I know someone mentioned it but what is the trick to getting a 1600 point card since it is only priced at $19.99 I suppose otherwise I'll apply it towards a 4000 point card and maybe get the Season pass for Gears.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yup, that's the trick. You'll need to buy a 4000 point card since there's no way to get a 1600 point card using a $20 gaming coupon.

It's not impossible just not likely. Get a cool employee to override the penny and you are golden.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Newegg.com has a code for $12.00 off Assassin's Creed: Revelations (came to $47.98 shipped for 360 version). The code is EMCYTZT870. I don't think you'll get release-day delivery, but at that point I'll be so wrapped up in Skyrim that I won't care. It does get you free 3-day UPS shipping so you'll get it by the weekend. I think my copy of Rage came the day after release from them.

For me, RAGE came on the day after release and those two big Kinect releases came on the release date this past Tuesday.
