You see the ads in three places...

1: Screen saver....this does not bother me at all...

2: Home page...at the bottom...takes up less than 10% of the screen at the very bottom and does not get in the way at all...

3: and you can choose to go to a special page from the menu that list all the deals on one page....

No ads in any other part of the kindle...and never while you are reading a book...

one thing I worry about is that they might change how much the ads take up your kindle down the road. They say no ads will happen during a book, and this is true...but in their terms they have the right to change this down the road if that want...

I also fully believe they are making the deals better in an effort to move more kindles...once word of mouth gets out on how great the special kindle is...I think they will back up on these free 10 bucks for video games, or 20 dollar gift card for 10...and it will be more 10% off soap...or other shit that is really not that good of a deal...

Also a $50 GC when you buy a new 250 GB 360. I'm in the market for one right now and I'm hoping Amazon matches some of this stuff. I have a GC there I'd like to use.

It might be a YMMV thing, but my local Kmart has all their 250 GB 360s marked down to $240 ($60 off). You might want to check that out if Amazon doesn't match.

Got the mail yesterday and it wasn't there. Checked today as I left for lunch and it was there (mail had come again after lunch, so I assume I had a second delivery yesterday).

So, while it's nice to get my package and see the packing slip did, indeed, say I ordered 2 cards, I was a little perturbed to only receive 1. Now I get to deal with Buy.com's customer "service". FML...
