To save others the search: that's the price after $20 coupon.

D'oh. You got me excited. I meant I'm holding out until I get my credit for Halo (or Metroid: OM for that matter) so I can use it on RB3. Maybe by that time RB3 will have a $20 promo as well.

It's not quite as good as the first, but there's definitely $10 of fun to be had there.

Am I missing something, or do they also have crazy good prices on the 360 network adapter and all system wireless controllers? $50 and $18/$20.

The controllers are used, but that is a good deal on the network adaptor. They're a relaible site -- I've bought a couple of games there and they post every day on CAG.

Great deal on Overlord 2, but of course I bought the PC version two weeks ago in the big Steam Summer sale.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I was at Toys R Us today and they had a video game dump bin with all games marked $9.99 before an additional 25% off, making each game $7.49. The only titles that caught my eye out of a mixture of PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, DS and Wii games were 2 copies of Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP. If I had a PSP, I would have grabbed both, one for myself and one for a trade.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, or if it's common knowledge, but New SMB Wii's price has been cut to $35 on amazon and walmart.com.

I just saw it when I was browsing and ordered it. I didn't know about the price drop...just thought I'd share. It's unusual to see a Nintendo published game drop in price so soon after release.

Looks like you can get Final Fantasy XIII for $19.99 next week at Best Buy. It's on sale for $39.99 and a $20 coupon will be available from the gamers club starting 7/18. Now my question is which system to get it for?

PS3. Better graphics, no disc swapping, and i believe you can switch audio to Japanese with English subtitles.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be all over that.

I hope Amazon matches that price.

That's the easiest question I've been asked all day -- PS3 definitely. Better graphics + no disc swapping.

They'll most likely match the $39.99 price but I really doubt they'll also match the coupon price. The Best Buy coupon is supposed to work only on the regular price, but usually it works on the sales price.

I'll be all over that like stink on...yeah whatever that catchphrase is. 360 is the easy choice for me since that's all I got (and it isn't on the Wii). Nice sale, between that and Bioshock 2 which I bought this week, they are certainly trying to be competitive with Amazon.

Well crap. I was going to go with the 360 because of the achievements and the controller. Are the disc swapping and the graphics bad enough to get it for the PS3?

I don't think it's terrible on the 360 by any means, but it certainly looks better and smoother (less jaggies) on the PS3. Here's a good side-by-side from Game Trailers:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fRQ5p_UjWao&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fRQ5p_UjWao&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

As far as disc-swapping, it's not a huge deal, but I would prefer using one disc over four.

Apparently Skate 3 will be $39.99 as well. There's a $20 off coupon for that game in the current Gamer magazine that Best Buy publishes (and I got for free by mail two weeks ago). In the fine print it says "Not valid on sale prices", but I'm still planning on giving it a try. Never owned a Skate game, but that price on the new game makes me consider it.

FWIW, I've never had any issues using those RZ coupons for "sale" games. Generally, if the computer accepts it, the cashiers will ring it up.

I just got that magazine in the mail yesterday. I'll be getting Skate 3 for sure if I can get it for $20.

I heard we were supposed to be getting this mag a couple weeks ago, but I haven't got mine yet! I'd be all over the BioShock 2 coupon if the damn thing would just come.

I think as long as you're a RZ and Gamer's Club member you should be sent the first issue. The coupons are good until 7/31, so you still have a couple weeks to take advantage of them.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I suppose if anyone really wants some of these coupons I could be amenable to sending some out via snail mail. I'm not going to use any of them except maybe the FIFA World Cup coupon (if BB drops the price now post WC).
