Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Well, the site crashed a minute before the sale and I haven't seen anyone a CAG say they have gotten the page to work.

I don't think it's going to matter. I had been logged in and had it in my cart, but now all I get is "sever too busy" errors.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

By the way, the coupon SAVER is not working on the deal. It says, according to CAG, that the minimum has to be $25 for the coupon to work. So the game comes out at almost $30. I'll wait until this game drops in price. Gamestop can go fuck themselves.

On the official Facebook page, GameStop did say that after the servers recover, the deal will be extended until they run out of supplies.

I'm going to browse their site for a $2 used GBA game to get the free shipping. I should be ready to check out by sometime early next week.

they're out now. Spent 40 minutes trying to checkout. Clicked Submit Order and "Red Dead Redemption is no longer available and has been removed from your cart".

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

People on CAG are saying that they called in and got the deal saying the server crashed during checkout. Might be worth a shot, although the CSR line has been busy for the past few hours.

Not on the keyboard bundle yet I pre-ordered that on 6/22. I know this gets answered all the time, but if they add a promo like that to the item I ordered, will I get it too without having to cancel and re-order?

Yes. I think I'll hold out for the $20 credit from Halo before pulling the trigger.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Thanks! Then is it safe to assume that I'll get the best deal between now and release date without having to do anything?

I'd say yes. Worst case, call them and say "Hey, fucksticks I ordered this earlier so make sure to give me my pre-order bonus"

Yep, I always have. I pre-ordered Lego Harry Potter last December before it had a release date or anything, and I got the $10 credit which they didn't add to the deal until the day before release. Same goes for titles which see a price drop (even a temporary one) between my order and release date.

One of the many reasons why Amazon now gets 99.9% of my video game money (and DVD/BD money, and book money, and really just about all other non-food purchase money - in short, Amazon has lots of my monies).

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I keep seeing people at CAG find a lot of games at Sears under $10 on clearance. Has anyone in this board ever found something there. The Sears I've been to always have the same overpriced "clearance' stuff that other stores sell for $10-$20 less.

I've looked a few times, but have never found anything other than some Guitar Hero bundles.

Yeah, I visit that thread a lot ...

I have bought a lot of games on clearance at Sears.

Last month, I found Metroid Prime Trilogy for $5. Also for $5 last month, picked up Wet, Lego Rock Band, Boy and his Blob and Muramasa The Demon Blade. The month before, got Fallout 3 GOTY PS3 for $20.

There are 2 Sears that I visit, and usually, I am not that lucky. Things usually start to clear out when they his $20.

About 6 months ago, had another good haul there, picked up a number of PS3 games for $10 a piece.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Ive never had any luck at Sears, TRU or Kmart. Target is hit or miss lately(mostly miss). I've actually seen better clearance deals at Wal-Mart this year then all of them combined.
